If you were responsible for the safety of hundreds of students in a county that was included in winter storm warnings and the Governor had declared a state of emergency and you did not dismiss classes then you would be the most irresponsible superintendent in the state imo. You can call me stupid but I am not irresponsible when it comes to a decision regarding the safety of children. Now you can get back to opining about affairs that are none of your business.

By someone using facts logic and reason over emotion and idiocy.

The school closings were announced yesterday around noonish. The illogical and over reactive state of emergency was declared around nine hours this morning. So for for you to use that to try and reinforce your ill informed, reactionary and yes stupid argument just shows that you don't have the intellect to argue or debate with me. It is right at normal school closing time right now and not a single emergency or dangerous Co diction exists anywhere I  the Tallapoosa County area.  So tell me again about how irresponsible I am. I @m intelligent enough to look at forecasts and know that there was absolutely no need for the schools to close early. You will not find any forecast from yesterday, today or Evan last week when this storm was first for cast that said there was any danger or threat of frozen precipitation, much less accumulation for this time frame. Every forecast properly predicted that If we get any frozen precipitation it will be overnight tonight. I look forward to you explaining how overnight precipitation tonight could possibly affect school today. Look outside my dimwitted sparing partner and tell me what you see. Current temp is 36 degrees with intermittent light rain/drizzle. Hardly an emergency situation.

AAs for the luvguv declaring a statewide state of emergency, well that just goes to show reactionary stupidity can be found across the full spectrum humanity. Are there areas that warrant a state of emergency at this point?  Possibly,  I have not tuned in any local news today to find out,  but I can assure you it is totally uncalled for in Tallapoosa County at this time. Apparently I hit a nerve by pointing out the stupidly of your arguments. I like that because it gives me a chuckle. You see I enjoy stirring the pudding but I find debating with mental midgets boring so please step up your game a little bit if you are going to continue to play,  but please keep playing. You see since there is state of emergency in place I am sure a lot of folks are shut in this evening and can use the entertainment value of you showing your ignorance and immaturity.

Once again, simply look outside.  I was right the weather does not warrant the hysteria nor your histrionics. Now enjoy the rain and you half a day off from whatever gubmit job you are under qualified for.

I will not argue with you nor even try to debate with you.

Undoubtely you were not living in Birmingham in 2014 when all forecasts called for winter storms to arrive around 5pm or later.  By 2 or 3pm there were thousands of motorists stranded along all major arteries in and out of the city.  For incidents such as this is the reason that many have become cautious of situations such as we had on Friday.

Lumber and weather are much alike in that neither travels a completely stright line and both do what they want to do.  You never know when a board will twist and you never know when the weather will change.

Understood and agree to a point. All storms are different and some she more unpredictable than others. This was very predictable with the freeze line hitting where it was predicted, when it was predicted. Had we been talking about a few hours difference I would agree with you but we are talking 12 hours,  not 2. If the predictions were winter weather at 6pm I would shut down also, but all predictions were after midnight.  That is a huge difference. And locally there was never a chance at accumulation at all so Jo reason to panic here. Preparing is one thing, over reacting is another.
