Too late to prevent a stupid statement. Last I checked 484 is hight than 482 so if you ask a stupid question, you should expect stupid answers. I don't know of any oracles, prophets, gypsys with crystal balls or fortune tellers who know if the rains will continue at normal levels. You might consult Poor Richard's Almanac for a Prediction of upcoming droughts. Other than that buy some waders.

About what?  He wants to know if we are going to go to 482 but the new winter level is 484. The drought appears to be over and we are basically at 484,the new winter level. He asked a stupid question. We won't go to 482 unless we go back into extreme drought.  I just gave him a stupid answer to go with it.

OK, I'll give you my opinion.  It appears that with the end of El Nino we are going to approach more normal rainfall amounts.  I suspect if that holds true then APCO will hold the lake level around the wnter pool level of 484', which under the old system would have been 483'.  So the water level should stay around 2' to 3' above the old winter pool.  Not sure how that impacts your question but I would not expect it to go down to the old winter level this winter unless something changes with the current weather patterns.

But as we know, opinions are like a certain part of your anatomy near the alimuntary canal, everyone has one.

It was a stupid post with a stupid question. It got a stupid answer. So yes, exactly what you should have expected. From your previous post you claim you are in the mortgage/financial acceptance sector so one would expect you to be able to do a little math and deductive reasoning. With the new winter level of 484 having been discussed numerous times on the forum one would expect a regular like yourself to know this. You seem to have connected brain cells but I am baffled as to why this seemed to stump you. In simple terms, 484 is higher than 482, so no, you shouldn't expect your foot valve to be exposed this year.

well LIFER someone must have put a moldy cobb up your A_ _; I dont claim anything--its a fact what I do --I'm just not an expert on water levels like you apparently are-so go stick your head in the mud & try to get a life & quit your rude comments--remember the old saying" if you cant say something nice, keep it zipped"

An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less. I am not an expert but I can subtract 484 from 482. Being in the mortgage business doesn't impress me. I know some idiots that do it successfully. Two of my four sisters are in the mortgage business. One of them is one of the aforementioned idiots yet she does quite well. And for the record nobody sticks anything up my a$$ except a doctor every five years or so. They are nosey and like to keep tabs on what is happening up there. They have never found a corn Cobb but I will tell them you think there must be one up there and to take a good look next time.

Actually, a proper stupid answer would be something along the lines of "join the polar bear club on January 1st and dive in"

This brings back one of my earliest lake memories of my father wading out in the winter to add an extension to our water line.  The water was lower than 2007 that winter. This was before we had "city" water and we had to draw water for the house from the lake.  Those were the days.

As to the drought, I won't believe it is over until the lake level is 490.
