Anecdotal evidence. A young cyber security professional who works for me related today that she went to vote and was told "you already voted absentee". Apparently in Virginia one can request an absentee ballot by email. Someone requested the ballot in her name using their email address, and Virginia emailed the ballot to the imposter. After discussing the matter with the commissioner, she was allowed to cast a "provisional" ballot, which means her vote may or may not ever be counted.

I went to the poll, told them my name, they looked it up, veriified with my ID, wrote down my name, had me sign my name as it was on the printout, I got a ballot and voted.
Isn't that the way it should happen for most folks?
A ballot, on site or absentee, should be given to a person with ID, not to an organization, or an email address.

I read the same story but you left out the other half. These were people who voted early and died before election day. They are defined as dead peole who voted. Happens all the time. Actually, deplorables are more unhealthy and therefore more die after they vote early and before election day. According to the article, it is Trump who is getting the majority of these dead votes.
Glad you took the time to research and post this story.

I went to the polls and voted exactly the same way you described. However, after the fact, I noticed something that I thought was a little odd. I did not see a number or any other identifying information that connected my ballot to my name. Unless I am missing something, it appears that there is no way that you can pull the paper ballot out of the box and connect it to my name. If that is the case, depending on how the voting machine is controlled after it leaves the voting site, would it be possible for someone who has access to blank ballots to mark the blocks and feed them into the machine?

I was assuming that as the worker wrote in my name, the number on that line was also somehow the number of the ballot she gave me. But I am assuming.

I don't think so and the rational is that if that was done then the secrecy of the ballot goes away. If you think k about it do you really want the powers that be to be able to find different out who voted how? I teeter back and forth on the issue. An argument can be made for either side.

Shazzam, an Honest Election
an adventure into useless Shortbus diatribe............no comments?????
I just can't understand the voting process.
If you go out and buy a candy bar, you get a receipt.
So if you vote, you should get your votes and a number on a watermarked paper receipt.
After voting, you go onto the internet and give a number a little different.
You get a screen full of 20 voters, yours included.
Your number shows your votes. You verify your vote.
The site also adds up all votes for the city, county, state, & national totals.
Shazzam, an honest election. Something the Dimorats would be against.

Again, I can't be absolutely sure, but I called myseif looking for something that would identify my ballot with my name. I don't know why I didn't ask the question at the time. I personally don't have a problem with anyone knowing who I voted for. Just out of curosity I may try get an answer tomorrow.

Why is it that any time someone tries to make an honest post you find a way to make it into a fairy tale?

GF, I dealt with the IRS a few years ago. I did not submit enough information, but.... We pay quarterly and yearly income taxes. I refuse to pay before April 15th, but was notified that I did not submit enough information. The IRS and every other POS Government agency is a piece of crap. I said it, come and get me……

I pay quarterly taxes and file my taxes yearly. I don't understand what you mean about not giving them enough information?
Now on your quarterly payments you have to annotate that it is being made for whatever year you are paying. And you have to put your SSN on the check.
