Greetings...and I hope that everyone is having a great summer.

There is a beautiful cove down toward the dam that has waterfalls, walkways, and gorgeous landscaping.

We went by last weekend and they had put floating barriers across the cove so that no one could enter.

There are also lots of new buoys positioned around people's docks.  I thought that the lake was for all of us to enjoy, not a select few

that carve out their own private spaces.

Were the buoys attached via rope?   I can understand them wanting folks to enter and exit slowly, but I think the water should be acessible.  Yes, it is a beautiful spot.  They have worked hard for that landscaping.

The Red buoys at allowed within a certain # of feet of dock . Not sure the distance. My friend just put some out so we could swim without being run over by some DA. Boats still come by as close as they can get to them even though the cove is plenty wide not to.

You mean they have totally blocked it off so you can't get a boat through?  No one should have the right to do that because anything outside 490' is public access.  If they have blocked it off and the MP's or APCO find out I suspect they will remove them.  If they are just marking a swimming area that is fine.  But even that is not enforcable and relies on the courtesy of other boaters.

Thats just incredulous. That place has been written up with mutli-page picture layouts at least twice in the local lake magazines and actually invited folks to come by and look an now have the audacity to rope it off from the public.  That is just wrong.  If you don't want the parade of looky loo's stop inviting magazines to feature it.

Admittedly it is very small slough and is tough to turn around in but that should have been considered before publishing pics and directions. It will be interesting to see how it plays out because if they can why can't anyone/everyone else.

That sounds like a good plan.  I have not been there this year.  Any new changes/additions to make the trip worthwhile?

The owner did not invite people to tresspass which happens all the time. People pull up to the dock, use the rrope swing and diving rock etc. Not only is it tresspassing, but the liability is tremendous! He did create the garden for family and friends, and welcomes you if you call and ask to come by. The gardener will give a tour when it isn't being used by family.

That's an entirely different issue and no one should trespass on private property.  And you are right, jumping off a rock or using a rope swing creates lots of liability for the landowner which is why APCO cuts them down as quick as they find them.  A sad reality but a fact of life in this litigious world where far too many refuse to take personal responsibility for their decisions.  I had thought the issue was them blocking access to the cove but apparently you can still get in there so it seems to me much ado about nothing.

Probably just trying to cut down on the wake. I have seen a steady stream of boats teARING in and out of the cove while I've been there as a guest.

We have a bit of that in our cove but we are closer to the end so when they see it is a dead end they usually slow down and turn around.  Have not seen the need for anything other than one bouy off our dock and have never seen anyone come inside it.
