Will Willard come clean?

Last Thursday Willard was all over TV denying that he had anything what so ever to do with Bain Capital and Bain's business decisions or operations after 1999. He was still the sole stockholder during that time????
In 2002, when he decided to run for Governor, defending his claim to Massachusetts residency before that state's election commission, Willard said "When I left my employer in 1999 I left on a basis of a leave of absence indicating that I would return...to my employment at Bain Capital..., but I (after my Olympic duty ended) decided not too and entered into a departure agreement...."
Before the same group his attorney said that during his (Romney's) leave his work in the private sector continued unbroken. "Now while (heading the Olympics) what happened to his private and public ties to Massachusetts? They continued unabated...."
Now you can make the argument that what I call Willards "flip flops for political gain" on abortion, gun control, immagration, gay rights, healthcare etc were "wise policy corrections", there is no way to color the fact...when it comes to Willard's relationship to Bain between 1999 and 2002...He either did lie in 2002 or he is lying in 2012!
Now he is a politician and lies from politicians is what we all expect and get. The rub comes when the backers of a particular politician refuse to accept or admit his or her lies.

You miss the point. You seem to be suggesting that it is ok for Romney to lie since in your mind Obama lied. I thought the Right stood for integrity rather than lies and more lies. Romney is hiding the truth on Bain which is telling the voters he will lie as President. He needs to prove us wrong and release the evidence. Even his fellow GOP in the primary believed he was hiding the truth.
Can anyone explain why he won't simply release the info?

You keep trying to suggest Romney can lie cause Obama lied. Obviously, you can't defend Romney and his lies about Bain so you bring up all the distortions from the right about your President.

The point is: if they all lie, and you are willing to admit it, why pursue it?

Anyone form the left trying to nail Romney about 'hiding' anything is so laughable as to be pathetic. You really must have a mental disorder. Of course that is a rhetorical statement. Liberalism is a mental disorder. One of my own sisters suffers from it too, so I know it well. So sad. Seek help.

You miss the point. The GOP advertises they have integrity and don't lie...only libtards lie. What is Romney hiding? You are like a politician who is avoiding answering the question by going after the messenger. I have to assume you agree he is hiding something since you have not defended his position. The right is a bunch of hypocrites. My libtard medicine says OBAMA 2012.

Why can't you address the more basic question: if they all lie, why does it matter? Obama's ascendency is based on the presumption that he is a "transformative" figure (Colin Powell,) above the base. Are you now admitting that he lies? Is he as bad as the rest of us? What is there then to recommend him?
You seem to believe that the republicans all lie a priori, so Romney should come as no surprise to you.

Of course he has...he is a politician. I cannot think of any President in my memory who hasn't been caught in an occasional fib (with the possible exception of Harry Truman who is barely in my memory). That is not the point. I brought up his problem to let all the nuts on this forum prove my actual point...that the right is every bit as hypocritical as the left. "We don't do what they do...but if we caught doing what they do we will change the subject...but if we can't get away with that...we will ignore it...but if it turns out to be so blatant we cannot ignore it...then we will deny it...but if it turns out we did do what they do and the media has got the goods on us and we can't make it go away by changing the subject, ignoring it or denying it...then we will justify it by sayin it is OK because they did it first." The responses on the forum demonstrate that most of you are already to the justification stage. The country saw Ed Gellispie going through a similar mantra this morning on MTP. This nation is in very deep trouble regardless of who wins this election because the hypocrisy and polarzation is only going to get worse. Eventually the sensible middle is going to have to run the money changers out of the temple. I just hope and pray they can do it before it is too late!

I am in the sensible center on most issues. I am to the left of center for now but was a bit right of center in 2004 when I voted for W. After his final four years of fiasco after fiasco I moved to the left. I am liberal on most social issues but much less so on fiscal issues but not nearly far enough right to have ANY respect for Grover Norquist. I do respect Paul Ryan but disagree with his budget policy approach (as did Newt until he buckled to Limbaugh et al). I know you will not agree, but so is Obama if you look beyond the extreme right's and T party crowd's demonizing. Until they sold out for political gain and crawled like a snake on their bellies to the same crowd, so were John McCain as a Senator and presidential candidate before 2001 and Mitt Romney as the Governor of Mass!

If you don't care about all the information Oblamer has frozen, his relationship with terrorists, why he and his wife were disbarred, is his SS# valid, does he have a vaild birth certificate, on and on and on ... do you really think it matters to this country and the american people he he was or was not running a company that has created thousands of jobs and saved hundreds of companies from collapse?
While Oblamers policies has businesses not hiring, outsourcing and moving jobs and whole companies to other countries to escape excessive taxation and regulation.
Go drink more Kool Aide.
|
You finally admit that Oblamer is a liar. I do not believe Romney lied about anything ... it is just Oblamer trying to twist and strech the truth since he has nothing to run on, so he tries to tare down his opposition with BS to distract the american people from his record of distruction and disgrace of the office of president.

Honestly Archie, you support a complete failure as a President who has been documented conclusively to have lied dozens of times (if not many more), including in his own alleged autobiography, who refuses to release his college transcripts because they would be an embarrassment to him and those that think he is intelligent and is destroying this country.
You don't seem to understand Archie, we could give a rats behind about any of this stuff. Romney will be infinitely better as POTUS than the miserable failure you voted for and will vote for again like a mind numbed robot. i can certainly understand if i supported the Messiah why i would want to launch inane attacks about meaningless things. if i had Oblamer's record i would love to change the subject as well. But it will not work and it will be easily seen by intelligent people as the transparent charade that it is.
The things left wing nut libtards think are important.........and the ones they don't.....

The rest of America has watched your beloved Messiah destroy the country over the last 3 1/2 years giving us the worthless one Jimmy Carter's 2nd term. They just don't care about this stuff and neither do I. Gonna send more money into Romney on your behalf GF..

I think ALL taxes should go back to what they were under Clinton. Alternatively, I support Simpson-Bowles. Nobody likes taxes but they go with citizenship. Obama and Boehner had reached a tentative $4 cuts (including soc sec) to $1 tax increase, Before Obama could even start selling it to the liberals (Tough sell!) the T party nuts and Cantor pulled the speaker's legs out from under him. The agreement was very similar to the Simpson-Bowles plan the GOP always points out Obama has "rejected". Of course the T party will NEVER actually support Simpson-Bowles because it includes tax increases. They just love to talk about it. Your T party types are willing to watch this nation sink as long as she goes down with them paying low taxex!

i’m certain that Romney doesn’t do his own taxes. i’m pretty sure that H&R Block doesn’t do Romney’s taxes. He probably has an accounting firm… with a bevy of tax accountants and lawyers… do his taxes.
Have you ever sold a mutual fund you’ve been holding for a while? if so, you would have had to provide a “basis” for your profit or loss. if there was only one way to calculate that basis, then there would be one answer to that question.
Now, in the beginning, when i was younger… that would be DECADES ago… i bought iRAs and some non-iRA mutual funds. Last year i sold a few of them. Guess what – BLAM! – the basis question. i have a CPA do my taxes. He wasn’t around when i started investing. He explained the various methods for estimating a basis. i chose one and went for it. he checked my work and blessed it. He did not file my basis calculations. But, with a little effort i can find them.
A wealthy businessman can’t just suddenly release twelve… or eight… years of taxes and backup documents. it’s not as easy as releasing your college transcripts… or your original long form birth certificate.
Therefore, i recommend that a neutral firm be contacted… for example KPMG or Price WaterhouseCoopers, or Arthur Anderson… usw… a THiRD party auditor… and let them go at Romney’s taxes… and Obama’s. There is very likely little to hide as GOV Romney has been a political target repeatedly in the past. The GOP and the DNC should split the cost of the audit evenly.
The audit should commence simultaneously with the release of Obama’s college transcripts, thesis, and long form birth certificate. For the life of me, i can’t figure out why this is so difficult. i had to have Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University supply certified copies of my transcripts as a condition of employment. Anyone can walk into the Virginia Tech Library and check out a copy of my thesis (if there are any questions either i or the Geophysics Department will release the backup data and my computer programs). i can release my birth certificate through the State of Florida, all i have to do is sign the release form.
