I just did a search for a good quality can crusher. I was a little surprised by all the different styles available now. Any of you guys have a recommendation? I have ruled out the one that attaches to the top of plastic cans. A freind has one of those at work and says it is not up to par for the use it will get here. I need one that will hold up to the elements as it will be mounted outside.

URL: I Like this one, but it may be a little overkill.

This happens to me too. I'm thinking I want something and only expect to find one choice and it turns out that there are numerous options. Who knew so many people were crushing cans? (I recycle mine, without being crushed). I think I would go for that easy pull for $29, but the Norpro one for $13. would probably be just fine. Just recently I was thinking about buying a composter, but quickly became overwhelmed by all the choices and decided not to decide.

Make your own composter out of most anything.   Some chicken wire  in a five foot diameter hoop works nice.  Just remember two to one on the brown vs green compost and turn ever month or so.    On the can crusher just use your boot or if yours is not big enough ...

Ours is mounted on door frame of utility shed. Put a can in the slot and pull the handle down to "smash" the can. Good enough for family and weekend guests. Added feature, if you alternate arms to smash cans, you get to work your arm muscles. Bought at hardware store.
