We the taxpayers just got hit by paying for a 3 week paid vacation for a couple of hundred thousand fed workers, who still get their contractual paid vacation.

Gov't opens temporarily.  Nothing gets done and He declares an emergency, tells both Dems and Rinos to ef......lves.  and funds the wall.

Conservatives had a quick message for President Donald Trump after he announced a deal to end the government shutdown without funds for his border wall:

Conservative outlets, from the Drudge Report to Breitbart News, also blasted headlines in dramatic font declaring Trump caved with "NO WALL."

I wish as much concern for government workers over missing a couple of paychecks was directed toward those blue collar construction workers who get laid off every day because of cheap foreign labor and who then have to work 2 maybe 3 jobs in order to make ends meet.  I know many of those ol Archie and trust me, they don't want attention and don't want to be used a pawns.  They get on with life.

And as well, when these laborers get laid off they don't have a Federal Employees Health Benefit Plan premium that still gets paid.  Show me some valid concern Arch for those who on a daily basis suffer income stream disruption without any safety net at all.

I support CRD"s concern about workers who lose their jobs because employers "replace" them with immigrants(many of which may be illegals) because they work cheaper or don't hire a qualified worker since they can hire immigrants cheaper. There are actually "several government programs" which "reward" companies for hiring foreign workers(in many cases over more qualified American workers)! I am in the process of preparing a "post" that will shed some light on a program that I think will be quite shocking.

Being in the construction industry, I can tell you with authority that, at least in Atlanta, a huge majority of builders will tell you if it weren't for the immigrants their business would suffer ''bigly'' because, in this wonderful ''Trump'' economy, there are not enough native born workers available and willing to do the work!

Even conservative economists are aking it clear to any who will listen that if the availability of immigrants is cut off the econmoy will suffer ''bigly''.

The bill that Trump just signed is EXACTLY, except for the revisions to dates. word for word the Republican bill verbally approved by Trump before Christmas and unanimously approved by the Senate.  Before it went to the House for final approval it was TRUMP who did the RENEGGING after being lambasted by Limbaugh and Coulter!  Look it up and see truth for once!!

I  also am in construction and involved with the  burgeoning data center boom so I see many immigrants on a daily basis. What  seems  to continually be conflated by the LEFT is the difference between legal immigrants and border invading illegals. We have to vet our work force throughly due to security concerns of clients. We also continually find fake documentation coming with them. It is costly and imposes an undue burden on business owners to go through this process. There are many avenues for the accumulation of false document that are so good it takes contacting the source for verification, very costly. We still loose men weekly because they came in contact with the lagal system and were  found to be illegal after our vetting. We need legal immigrants in our country not border jumpers period!

Reality is that our education system has put such an emphasis on college that fewer grads are considering Blue collar carrers. They think they are owed a cushy white collar job waiting for them after getting a liberal arts degree. That isn't reality. Reality is a person with the proper training for a couple of years will have the opportunity for a well paying job in this economy if they have a good work ethic. The key words are WORK ETHIC. Unfortunately they have been downplaying excellence so as not to hurt anyones feelings so the kids don't know where they fall in the pecking order for well paying jobs until it's to late.
