Greetings and Happy Spring.....Has anyone tried the new Digital Clear Antenna.  We had some reception from Montgomery TV Stations before they went from analog to digital, then the signal disappeared.  This looks like a great solution rather than installing cable.

I looked at it and concluded based on the reviews that it might not work well for my TV which is in our basement.  I would need an HD antenna that sits on the roof.

Help us out here.  If the signal disappeared how is it a great solution?

I know nothing about this subject, but will ask a question anyway. Does the signal picked up by the antenna come directly from the source at the station in Montgomery or is it being relayed from a tower in between the two locations?

I know the Troy public radio station has repeaters throughout southeast Alabama but each one broadcasts on a different frequency.  Listeners tune in to the frequency of the transmitting station close to their house.  While the same could be done with television, the repeated signal would have to be of a different frequency to avoid interfering with itself.  I have no knowledge of that happening with broadcast tv in our area.  In fact, I think the WSFA NBC channel in Montgomery has a tower in Grady, about 30 miles or so south of Montgomery.  They obviously want to reach an audience in the poorly served southern part of the state.
