1. Sexual harassment has been around since there were men and women. The only thing that has changed is how it is viewed by this culture. And I think that perhaps we have expanded it to include some things that used to be called flirting. Sexual assault is one thing, but sexual harassment is open to broad interprestation. When I was quite young, I worked with a man who used to come by and rub my shoulders, while he would be talking to me about a work issue. Honestly, it never felt like sexual harassment and he used to do it to a lot of the women in the office. I don't ever remember anyone accusing him of sexual harassment.
2. Trump needs to stop commenting about this phone call to the widow All he needs to say at this point is "that was not my intent and I'm sorry she felt that way".
3. I don't think the military did anything wrong in the Niger situation. It appears that this mission changed by the team as they got out there. I have two thoughts about why the one black NCO was found a distance from the others. Either he panicked and ran, or he was trying to escape and they caught up with him. Things are fluid in these places. there are no guarentees about what will happen. Intelliengce is only as good as the humit on the ground or the videos from the drones.
4. Our Legislatiive Branch is gutless. it's either anaysis paralysis or they never heard that the only people who never make mistakes are poeple that aren't doing anything.
5. People want to blame Trump for the North Korea tensions. My question is why they don't blame the previous administrations that allowed the NK nuclear program to conintue and why they didn't take it on before it reached this new level. I heard a report today that both China and Russia are working on missiles to knock out our satellites. Clearly we know, but what are we doing about it? (probably classified).
6. I am uncomfortable with racial divide in this country. I have some FB friends who are people of color, from my last life in Washington, and sometimes I am pretty shocked at things they say and post. Links they share. These are not thugs, but educated people, yet they sincerely believe that they are oppressed, targeted by the police, and held back by their race. It's not important what we think, it's important what they believe. It's like there is an echo chamber of BLM out there.
