I played the Stillwaters course this past weekend and was very impressed with the degree of improvement.  The new people in charge are making a huge difference and I appreciate the effort.  On another note, my golf game showed absolutely no signs of improvement and I was disgusted with my effort.

LOL!  I know how you feel about the game of golf.  Played last weekend and shot a 52 on the front and a 41 on the back.  It's a maddening game.  Glad to hear the course continues to improve.  Hope to play there again next Friday.  Now if they can only get rid of the tree in the middle of the fairway on #9.  Last time I was there some guy who looked to be in charge was standing on the #9 tee box.  I asked him what he was looking at and he turned to me and said he was wondering why that tree was there.  I offered to cut it down for him and told him it was just wrong.  He told me he was having a golf course architect look at the course and make recommendations.  I cannot imagine he would leave both the tree and the fairway traps to the right.

I think one of the golfers on this forum with organizational skills and not much to do should start the Lake Martin Forum First Annual Invitational Golf Tournament.  Maybe in the Fall when the weather is a little cooler.  You know, shotgun start, catered lunch, solicit prized from local merchants.  Great way to get to know other golfers in the area.

I would be more than happy to organize a Forum Golf Tournament. I have done many a tournament for the Rotary Club and several charties back in Gwinnett County, GA.  I can't do it this year due to the fact that I am chairman of our 50 Year High School Reunion on the weekend of Sept 18th & 19th in the Atlanta area near the Atlanta airport. It's tough being here at the lake fulltime and running a committee where most of the people live on the southside of Atlanta. The school is Hapeville High School and it's the Class of 1965.

Hey Maddog, thanks for volunteering.  I'll be happy to be your #2.  I'll be in touch.  By the way, if you're planning your 50th HS reunion, we hit from the same tees.
