Well with the recent storm and runoff, were hitting it hard this first day of October! It's great to be back on the water after relocating to the great state of South Carolina just a mere 7 weeks ago! Kids in school, routines getting settled, licenses obtained... Now it's all about the fishing! One of my goals and rewards for making our relocation permanent, was to get my fishing license. Got it today from petersons bait and tackle out on Charlotte hwy. The evening couldn't be more beautiful as I headed out to the garage, untangled my well packed(?) rods and reels, pulled out my favorite medium "ugly stick" and threw my favorite rainbow dawn with yellow tail out into the glass like water. I remember a mentor and fishing buddy telling me " if ya don't know what to fish...drop shot!" Well it could be more than 10 minutes and "FISH ON!" Well for about the five yards I dragged that unknown species then...boom..slack line... Missed my first record bass, or cat...gar? Who knows...but I had 'em for a bit.. And that's all it takes for me to get hooked( pun intended!) let's see what the rest of the month brings.. Oh and remember..don't know what to throw...DROP SHOT! Out!
