I've always been concerned about the lake levels and the apparent lack of any control for maintaining a reasonable level in the lake.  I've written the Governors office and have received responses that have no specifics about my concerns but a more general long term approach to this problem.  I was wandering if there is any active group that is organized and focused on getting Lake Lanier under control as it relates to maintaining some consistence level in our lake

I would be interested in this as well. Even when we get a little rain it seems the levels are still dropping. WTF?

There are 3 reasons for Lake Lanier continuing to drop. 1) water & sewer in Atlanta, 2) barge traffic below Columbus, and 3) mussels & oysters in Apalachicola. But if they keep letting water out at this rate they're going to run out of water in Lanier pretty soon - then what are they going to do. I've had to move my dock out every other week since June; now I've got to mow the "lake bottom" to keep the weeds from growing head high.
If we don't get a lot of rain this winter the lake is going even lower next summer.
