1.  Yes the lake will be lowered 10 ft this winter beginning on September 2, 2021.  NOTE: No fall extension possible.

2.  This will happen once every 6 years, so if you've got dock or seawall work to do....better do it this winter.

3.  Read APC's somewhat vague article above!

It’ll be interesting to see the lake drop 10 ft before year’s end if we get fall extension till Oct 15.

Hmm, Alabama Power still thinks the Conditional Fall Extension is "Somewhat Likely" : 

 

08/03/2021 - The reservoir elevation at Martin Dam is 490.31 msl. Based on current hydrologic and operational conditions, it is somewhat likely that the Martin Fall Extension will be implemented this September. A weekly update will be published each Tuesday through September 30th. Lake elevations are always subject to change, depending on conditions.
