We've started our 2015 fund raising drive. Please donate and help make our fire department strong. If you haven't heard, we reciently upgraded our ISO insurance rating to a five from a previous rating of seven (many thought this couldn't be done). This will directly effect and lower insurance rates!! We've had a strong showing from new volunteer fire fighters, but we still need funding for this continue. Even if you're not in the Kowaliga district, your donations may still help you directly; all the local departments support each other when help is needed.

Congrats on the improved ISO rating. I know funds are tight, but a letter to residents of the fire district about the improved ISO rating and  that they should contact their home owners insurance agent regarding the change, which will likely save them some money should be considered. In the same letter emphasize the need for funds to maintain the rating, equipment, etc. Our department sends an annual fund raising letter requesting $100 from every household. We have a response rate of just above 50%. Good luck.

Letters about the ISO change are on way, Woodrow. We also send out requests for donations to everyone in the district....I'm not sure everyone knows about the positive changes, but we are working on getting the word out. Thanks!

Thanks! We're getting closer, but we still need a boost. Steve and I have talked seriously about this, but we are both still pretty busy trying to survive and it's hard to make time. If there is a REAL demand that will benefit the commmunity (over and above us jawing), we'll make it happen.
