- Large Sweet Onion
Trim the bottom so there it is flat and will sit on the grill
Core the center, but DO NOT cut through the bottom
- One Beef Bouillon Cube in bottom of cored onion
- Fill onion with butter
- Cut about 1/2 inch of the top core of the onion and place back on top of the onion
- Wrap in HEAVY duty aluminum foil (top of foil needs to have room so twist the top together)
- 325 degree grill for about an hour or until onion is tender
- Open foil CAREFULLY and add a slice of provolone cheese for about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Carefully open the aluminum foil over a bowl, otherwise you will loose all the juices.

- One large onion will feed 2 people

it sounds very good. I'm just wondering if there is a way to do it and incorporate the smoky flavor from the egg into the onion...

I would bet you could open the top of the foil about mid way thru the cooking and let the smoke filter in............
