I highly recommend this months issue of Lake Magazine. There is a good article in it about the water levels. Very imformative and only once instance of hyperbole that I noted. Extasypoint could realy learn a few things by checking it out. Namely that the largest draw down in history was 58ft due to drought of 1941. But we all need to sell at 1995 prices because we had another drought. Any of you that do decide to follow that advice, please call me first.

Sorry LTL, already sold yesterday at 50 cents on the $ due to the expert advice I have received on this forum. Plan to take the proceeds and buy a few pre-construction condos in Panama City and flip em and make a ton of money. I'll let you know how it all works out. Whew! Glad I was able to unload my worthless lakehouse. I suggest you do the same. Also thinking about buying some Home Depot stock. What do you think?

Actually, Home Depot may be a steal right about now. The dollar, like the lake, like the housing market, is going to rebound once we quit buying Chinese, start saving again and support american manufacturing and business. Just my 2 cents...

I know a fellow that bought $5000 in HealthSouthstock when it hit 22 cents a share. Last time I checked it was back up in the 11-12 dollar range. He did OK.

about the stock however, thought I got a steal when I bought Home Depot at 29 and again at 23+ but , it's not looking so great now. Oh well, if I can keep ngetting 50 cents on the $ for my real estate, shouldn't be long before I'm bankrupt. Oh, the humanityn of nit all.

Depends on which dollar you are looking at:

The US Dollar
The YEN
The EURO or
The PESO.

As if the US dollar keeps declining and he pays you in EURO its probably a good deal for you LTL - LOL.

My husband and I took this month's Lake Magazine, inserted a bunch of photos and newspaper articles (and some Forum printouts) about the drought, and put all of them in a file. When the drought of 2050 happens, our children will have LOTS of information to share!!!!!

Where could a fellow find a copy. I live in Prattville. Is there an online version? LTL, could you deliver one to me this weekend?

Sorry CAT, I already gave mine away. But here is a link to the online version. I presume the whole article is there, but I didn't read it to see. The most amazing fact cited is that 1 foot of water, even at it's current level, is enough to supply the ENTIRE state with all the water we consume in a year!!

It is the BEST read I have seen on the water level issue.
