First fishing trip?

I am planning a fishing trip for the first weekend in March. This will be my first time in Grenada, or Mississippi so I am looking for any help in a fishing report for that time of year. Lake levels, areas to fish, deep or shallow, spawn or prespawn, favorite colors, anything would help.

Hey, I just located this forum for Grenada Lake.
I have lived in Grenada all my life and have enjoyed the fishing and water sports since I was a child.
You have probably already visited Grenada, and I hope that your visit was enjoyable. I do hope you will consider returning for some outstanding crappie and largemouth bass fishing during April, May and June.
First week of March is kind of early for out of state visitors, unless you are from the north.
Quite windy and weather is unpredictable to say the least.
Since Grenada Lake is a US Corp of Eng. lake, you have to contend with varying water levels, both up and down. The draw down continues until end of April or the first of May. Then the recreation pool rules take effect and they will allow the lake to rise up to around 220' or so for the summer.
I want to invite you back to visit Grenada Lake, as for the last 3 weeks, over 450 crappie teams have been here for the tournaments. You can view some of the results at www.crappiemasters.net or www.crappieusa.com.
The local newspaper has some articles on Grenada Lake also.
