It is just amazing to me ... new weekly jobless claims were 550,000, down 21,000 from the previous week and the dems and Obama are making statements like everything is great and they have saved the economy ... when it is pretty clear their policies have not worked, they have delayed recovery and their are many people still suffering and struggling with no job and more people are still losing jobs every day.

When the economy was actually growing and real jobs were being created, the dems could not stand it and would talk about "under employment" and they were not quality jobs. Now they are bragging the we only have a half a million new people file for unemployment benefits this week.

How funny ... and so sad.

How sad you are apparently looking at last weeks report. This week the claims dropped to their lowest point since Jan...530000. Not good but we are finally moving in the right direction.

How funny you are that you think that is good. So sad.

I didn't say it was "good". In fact I specifically said it was "not good" but was at least now moving in the right direction. Do you not agree?

Yes I agree, it was less than the previous week, if that make you happy when you still have 530,000 new claims filed ... well i gues you are like Obama and the other dems that believe if you have lemons, make lemonade. That really is sad that you can find 530,000 unemployment claims as positive just because it was slightly less than the previous week. Come on, can you look and say, have Obama's policies been right when Canada has been "adding" jobs (net positive) yet we are still far in the red.

Based on your post I guess you think that the fact we are finally moving in the right direction is not good. You are so obviously a "half empty" guy. Sooo sad.

Take it from the left to find good news that for one week we have a little less than half a million people losing their jobs versus a week where more than half a million people lose their jobs. I guess the one good thing about a Dem in the White House and in control of Congress is that bad news for almost half a million people is suddenly good news. Oh wait a second, I forgot that when Republicans also control the WH and Congress bad news for Americans and is good news for the left.

You are a strange strange man. You somehow miss the point others are making or refuse to see them as you only look through your rose colored glasses. I and many other have acknowleged good news and anything positive since we care about the country and people out of work. The problem I see is that while 530,000 lost jobs are better than 560,000 .... but it is NOTHING to celebrate. Mothly adjustments are many times more than that improvement.

I find it appauling that Obama, the dems and YOU are pointing to this like it is good news. Talk to the half million that had to stand in line to file for unemployment and see if it is good news.

You and your party is so two faced ... when Bush pulled the economy out of the tech bubble and recession that Clinton left, along with the horrors of 9/11 ... we were GROWING jobs (big time) and all we heard is that they were not quality jobs.

So tell me why you and your party now think this is such good news and you are critical of others that don't just say Obama is doing such a great job. And do you think when job growth turns positive, because it will eventually after the millions of jobs that were lost, you will be saying see Obama's policies are working. I will bet we will not hear how jobs created are now only quality jobs.

You can tell us Obama is doing great when unemployment is back around 4% where it was under Bush.

a strange strange man. You continue to insist I think this news (530000 new claims is good news). Please point out where I said it was "good news". I in fact stated it was not good news and I did state it was a move in the right direction which you agreed with.

Now WW let's talk about "my party". How many Democrats have you voted for? Have you ever even voted for a blue dog. I'm sure you are a proud Republican I am a proud Independant. I vote the candidate and the issues, not ideology. I voted for W in 04 and regret it. In recent years my vote has gone to democrats more often than republicans because I think that the GOP has lost it way and is putting political ideology of an extreme right wing base above the good of the nation and it's citizens. You are free to disagree. I do not agree with all that Obama is doing but neither do I believe he is out to destroy America and am willing to give him a chance. Again, you disagree and that is one of the things that make this nation great.

The same goes. Kindly point out where I claimed the "good news".

I used to be a die hard democrat until the party changed. I still vote for democrats local elections since southern democrats are in most cases very conservative.

You call yourself independent, but your hard line support for Obama puts you far left. Remember he was the most liberal senator based on his voting record and in my view, and many others he is now so far left he is kissing the back side of the right.

Micheal moore just came out with a new film where he supports socialism as the asnswer .... he is right in line with Obama.

Funny how he says the bank bail out is proving why capitalism has failed ... yet it was Obama that expanded this program and did not want the banks paying back the money.

Oh and what happened to the war in the middle east being evil under Bush and the dems wanted immediate withdrawal and admit "we lost" (Harry Ried) ... now they can do it and I don't see it happening?

I kindly refer to the "moving in the right direction" statement. I would assume that you would term that more like "good news" and not more like "less bad news". I would consider someone picking a one month slight improvement and calling that moving in the right direction someone that finds good news in bad news.

As for me, I would not consider one month of less job losses moving in the right direction. Let's hold our powder until we get several months or a true trend which I truly hope comes sooner rather than later for the sake of the country. As of right now, it seems we are headed to 10% unemployment and nothing that Obama has done has stemmed the bleeding. In fact, he has done a number of things that if passed into law will prolong our economic woes. That is why I and other thinking conservatives hope he fails in implementing his domestic policies.
