you have been quite. I don't blame you. I would be embarrased too of the results we keep seeing.
Pretty soon democrats will have to start wearing bags over their heads like the New Orleans saints fans did years ago.
I do see fewer and fewer Obama stickers on cars and many more like how's that hop and change thing working for ya. And ... don't blame me I did not vote for him. I even saw one that, said I am sorry, I made a mistake.

While traveling, I walked into a very high-tech bar. As I sat down on a stool I noticed that the bartender was a robot. The robot clicked to attention and asked, "Sir, what will you have?" I thought a moment then replied, "A martini please." The robot clicked a couple of times and mixed the best martini this man had ever had. The robot then asked, "Sir, what is your IQ?" I answered "oh, about 148." The robot then proceeded to discuss the 'theory of relativity', 'inter-stellar space travel', 'the latest medical break through', etc....... I was most impressed. I left the bar but thought I would try a different tactic. I returned and took a seat. Again the robot clicked and asked what I would have? "A Martini please." Again it was superb. the robot again asked "what is your IQ sir?" This time I answered, "Oh about 115". So the robot started discussing NASCAR racing, the latest basketball scores, and what to expect from the Auburn Tigers this weekend. I had to try it one more time. So I left, returned and took a stool.... Again a martini, and the question, "What is your IQ?"?? This time I drawled out "Uh..... bout 50". The robot clicked, then leaned close and very slowly asked, "A-r-e y-o-u p-e-o-p-l-e s-t-i-l-l h-a-p-p-y w-i-t-h O-B-A-M-A?

The economy will tell the tale. Whether you like it or not it is coming back Most economic gurus are now saying it is looking better faster and stronger than they originally believed likely. 53% of employers expect to be hiring in the next 12 months. $80 billion in TARP funds have been paid back with 7%+ interest and Treasury says a third of the TARP funds will not be needed. Manufacturing and residential construction were up more than expected in the last report. And remember WW as I said to one of your previous rants...I'll wait until they count the votes. Polls for Obama have slipped considerably but its results over an entire term and not polls 7 month into a term that makes a presidency. In conclusion, I didn't give up on W until a year and a half after I was stupid enough to vote for him. Why should I be less patient with Obama?

You may have disclosed this in previous posts...I can't remember. What was the watershed moment that caused you to give up on W?

We Auburn fans better have a sense of humor this year ... I think it could get very ugly before it gets better. But, War Eagle win or lose.
|
Just so you know ... Obama fell below the 50% approval mark faster than any other 1st term president except Gerry Ford after he pardoned Nixon. Ford fell to 49% after just 4 months.

The rest some I agree with, but most it is the liberal dream. I think there is a great chance of another significant down turn. Remember I work with bankers every day. Most are very cautious about commercial real estate and that coould be bigger than home foreclosures. Vacancies keep rising, lease rates are falling ... not a good sign for paying their mortgages.
We may get some lift in the economy from inventory replenishment ... but you can not get a sustained improvement until employment turns around. The consumer drives the economy.
tarp was to add liquidity to the financial sector to give people security so banks did not fail and they could have an orderly closure or consolidation. which has happened. I agreed with Tarp. I did not agree with how Obama used tarp to control compensation and bail out the auto industry, and not want to take tarp dollars back from banks that wanted to return it and created this fake "stress test" to hopefull keep more banks under his thumb. But he under estimated the power of the bank and people to keep capitalism alive and raise the necessary funds so quickly so they could pay it back. It took Goldman Sachs 48 hours to come up with another $14 billion dollars.

There was no road to Demascus moment...Iraq (above all) going from bad to worse and never any hint that W was aware or willing to admit mistakes, Rumsfeld, Cheney, more and more revelations about domestic spying and prisoner treatment (THIS IS AMERICA!), US attorney firings, eventually I admitted I had made a mistake. John Kerry would have been a poor one term President bt W's 2d term was a complete disaster throughout with a complete collapse at the end.

I agree Architect ... if Kerry had won he probably would have been one-term ... and for that matter ... I think Gore would have been one-term. In hind-sight, I think the best thing that could have happened to the GOP would have been a Gore win in 2004. But then again ... what the heck do I know? :)
