I finally got the video I shot on the day of the Poker Run trimmed down and edited to show the highlights. I must say I'm impressed with Steve's Skater. I'm also impressed with the catamaran style of boats in general. Steve can elaborate about the benefits of "Cats", but what I noticed is the catamaran design slices through the water nicely. Being carbon fiber instead of fiberglass, the edges seem somewhat sharper and better formed. Another thing I noticed is that catamarans do not lean on turns (they basically turn flat). Probably not good for maneuverability, but these boats were designed to go in a straight line and get you somewhere. :-)

If the video stops, pause it for a few minites and let the download get ahead of your viewing. We're talking Internet here, not Skaters.

Enjoy the CAT BOAT Ride!

Very nice. Whata ride! What was the top speed while you were on board?

It was good to have you aboard that day Bruce. We had a great time. The Poker Run was well organized. I just need to get me a paint job like the other Cat that was out with us. Glad you had a good time. Was fun at Heads place also.

The speed limit on Lake Martin is 60 MPH. I would be a fool to make a statement otherwise. If we exceeded 60, we were airborne and technically not on Lake Martin. LOL

That boat, per Steve, is capable of 150 MPH. There is a guy that recently completed the Tennessee River run (breaking a record at 652 miles in 11 hrs 14 minutes). That guy averaged only 85 MPH in a bass boat. Let's encourage Steve to smoke that dude and break the record. The Cat Boat would set a much higher bar.

That was a great video Bruce. And the shot of the sun behind the cloud toward the end was very pretty. NICE!

Call me... I wanna be there. Man, that was fun day, as I am sure you can tell by the video. Life is fun, you only live once. "Bling it On".

yep...I just hope that they keep that thing aimed away from me if I'm ever nearby with a hook and a line in the water. Had a fraternity brother at AU who designed and operated a similar cannon that used compressed air. That was impressive until he got in trouble with the AU police. I never heard how that turned out....

Be sure to wear your safety gear, gloves, helmet, flak jacket and a cup.

The one I've got plned can be fired with a remote control (safe distance).

Be my luck, some kid will be flying a R/C airplane nearby using the same frequency (this normally would happen as I'm peering down the barrel to see if the tater is loaded properly).
