.....but when I seem to be mistakenly included as a participant in an email or text, THE VERY FIRST thing I do is notify the group that there might be an error and ask that it be corrected. Why did the Atlantic journalist not do the same thing? In my mind, he holds the same if not more responsibility for this supposed leak by participating in a chat that he HAD TO SUSPECT that he was not invited to. What legal action could the DOJ pursue against him?

You aren't a hack, leftist, faux journalist writing for a TDS suffering Atlantic Ragazine looking to add to your long list of lies to harm Trump and his administration, nor would you lie about how you were accidentally invited and mischaracterize the content of the chat in order to gin up attention. You are an honest person that loves his country and has integrity. Big difference.
Funny to watch the so-called scandal fall apart piece by piece. First it was "war plans" using an unapproved, un-secure messaging app. Then it evolved into the app Signal is approved for non-classified chats and was placed on their computers by govt IT and as the details of these "war plans" came out it turned out to be already public information and when they went to classified discussions they said they needed to move to another application that was more secure. And we wonder why he initially wouldn't release it if he thought it's such a big deal. They have already said no classified info was included so what's the harm in releasing it to the public? The obvious harm is that we saw that he lied about the contents. They weren't war plans, they were a discussion of an ongoing operation.
This is why the media is held in such low regard and no longer control the narrative. Within 5 minutes of their lies being published the truth is already all over X. The 4th estate is dying a long, slow, painful and inexorable death of their own making when they decided to take on a majority of the American people. Trump has truly broken them and they are taking the Democrat party with them.

Well stated, MM.
When your approval rating as a party is less than 30%, desparation means throw anything against the wall and see if it sticks.

You need to post the truth rather than some right wing emotional diatribe. ....I assume responses like yours are intended to serve as a recruitment tool.
Personnally, I think what pilots are saying is closer to the facts and the truth.

As facts continue to come out, it time to realize the amatuers running the show need to be replaced.
"Information on US airstrikes leaked by senior US officials in a group chat that accidentally included a journalist was reportedly based on Israeli intelligence drawn from a human source in Yemen, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
The report, citing two US officials, said that Israel provided intelligence from an individual in Yemen about a senior Houthi figure who was targeted in the March 15 US airstrike discussed in the group chat on the Signal messaging app."

The media, including the leftists at the WSJ, are not to be believed when they write anything based on unnamed sources.....not for a second. They lie all the time. When in the chat did they state who the source was? Nowhere. That was supposedly leaked later on by some fictional anonymous source. So if there was a release of "classified" information it was done by the totally made up leaker to the WSJ, not by anyone in the chat. An error was made by some staffer to allow this lying faux journalist on the call and rather than celebrating raining death and destruction on the Houti's you are focused on this.
Until you can point us to your criticism and calls for resignations/terminiations over, say, the Afghanistan withdrawl, I am not going to take you at all seriously. You might just want to sit this one out.
The govt media complex trying to gin up a scandal where none exists will no longer work. We do not trust them, believe them and we hold them in low regard because they are leftist hacks.

I have no more respect for your opinion than you have of mine. So what's new? Getting rid of waste good....putting our military in possible harm's way bad.

My problem with your opinion is that it seems entirely situational and is based on biased reporting from unnamed and likely fictional sources that for some reason always seem to harm Republicans. You believed the biased media and gave Biden a pass for pretty much everything but are now demanding people lose their jobs over this stupid, inconsequential mistake.
And please explain to us how a blow by blow description of an ongoing military operation that was long over before the information was ever published by the leftist hack is putting anyone in harm's way. You think the Houti's don't know what hit them? You think that our having Tomahawk missiles is some state secret? That's why I don't value your opinion on this, because you refuse to think things through before you post them.
