The dems have other antics up their sleeves and we still don't know how Flake, Murkowski or Collins will vote.  Doug Jones is a definite no, even if there are enough GOP votes to carry the day.  I think his only hope in 2020 is a horrible GOL candidate.

Early on in this circus, he said he was a "no" vote...Dems rarely change their minds.  If only "Ole Roy" was there to ride in on his horse and vote "yes!"  Same tactics as they used on Kavanaugh got him defeated.  Hopefully, Kavanaugh will survive and Alabama will have a second chance on Jones.

I think either way it is going to make for intereresting midterms and probably regardless is going to energise both sides.  R's are pissed at D's for perverting the process and D's are just still pissed they lost in 2016.

Personally I hope they put him on because if they do flip anything at the midterms then there goes the chance to change the makeup of the court to counter the living document / changing constitution liberals on the court.

Watching the news - Flake and Collins were okay with the FBI report, so I thik they'll go yes.  No one seems to know what Lisa Mikowski thinks.  There is also some guy from West Virginia who is on the fence.  

MCConnnel said today that there will be a vote on Friday and the another on Saturday, after which Kavanaugh can be confirmed.  This is some kind of procedural thing.  

There is supposed to be some list of 1700 law professors who oppose Kavanaugh and one of the geezers on the high court said he didn't think Kavanaugh  should be confirmed (I got mine and now I can criticize others?)

The point is this, none of these stories pertain to anything Kavanaugh did as an adult.  Congress has allowed this to spiral downward into a Kangaroo Kourt.  I really fault all of them.  Finestien needs to retire - she looks like a cadaver and she is definitely brain dead.  I don't know what Schumer's excuse is - just stupid.  

Welcome to the future.  We'll never get anyone to put themselves out there for nomination now that they know that their HS and college years will also be investigated and questioned. And that Cory Booker may call you evil because he doesn't agree with you.  I hope Republicans turn out in droves this midterm to keep the Demorats from shutting down our government.  A very liberal California FB friend of mine said the other day that she doesn't want "old white men" running the country.  I wonder who she thinks have been running things since their was a government here.

It would set a horrible precedent that a man can be denied a job simply based on an uncorroborated and refuted allegation from the past.  It would decimate one of the founding principals of our democracy, innocent until proven guilty.  And worst of all, it would reward Democrats for their unsavory behavior and it would be repeated over and over.  This isn't just about Brett Kavanaugh, this is about the concept of fairness and the rule of law. 

So yes, it would be a disaster for this country and you would likely never see another white originalist man nominated for SCOTUS, regardless of qualifications and fitness.
