Miss Millie is our one year old bloodhound. She was at home Friday morning when I went to work and didn't come home on Friday night.or Saturday...and still not home this morning. If you have seen Millie since then, please let me know. She's wearing a pink harness and my contact information in engraved on the rabies tag. MILLIE IS NOT A HUNTER...she's our pet...she sleeps in the house, rides INSIDE the vehicle and I miss her terribly...

Millie lives in the Rocky Point area but the furthest she's been know to go visiting is on the Castaway Road.

Sending positive thoughts that she finds her way home. I know I would be frantic if any of my pets went missing.

Sorry about your lost Millie. Did she jump her fence or dig her way out of her fence?

Thank you for all the kind words. We have a DOG WATCH (like an Invisible Fence) pet containment system and she's decided that it's worth that shock to go visiting. Usually I get a phone call telling me whose house or cabin she's at and I go get her. It's almost comical...when I pull in the driveway, wherever she is, she wags her tail and comes to get in the car...Almost as if "well...it was good while it lasted."

I've cried and driven every road on this side of the lake so I'm afraid someone took her. There was a water leak at my neighbor's and when I left for work on Friday morning there was a hole dug in their drive and a shovel standing up in the ground...when I came home Friday afternoon around 3:00, the hole was filled in, the shovel gone..and no Millie.

Here's the link to her picture on the LAKE DOGS page...

I will put more flyers up this morning and check with Dr. Mitchell....but if anyone has seen her, please call me at 334-320-5781.

Thank you again...

Have you tried calling a humans shelter to see if she was wandering and someone took her in? Animal control maybe?

We had a dog go missing in Birmingham after some workmen had been in our neighborhood. Our neighbor called her crew, told them there was a 'reward' and our dog was 'returned'. All our pets were chipped the next week. Maybe your neighbor could help.

I've checked with the contractor who repaired the water lines, the Montgomery, Elmore County and Lake Martin Humane shelters, and all of the radio stations....still no Millie.

Unfortunately, I did hear, from a couple of Lake Martin residents, that there is a LARGE CAT (they presumed to be a cougar) that had been seen in the area in the last week or so. It was seen killing a family cat and it has attached a local "mean" chow/sheppard mix dog leaving it to get over 150 stitches.....

Please say a prayer that Millie will find her way home or be seen alive.....

Thank you all....

This afternoon the rural mail carrier called me when she saw Millie's flyer at Hart's Store in Kent. She said she thought she saw Millie when she was delivering the mail on Monday on Mason Road (which is another cul-de-sac off of Andrews Mill Road)...She said she was with two smaller dogs (one which brown, black & tan spots)...

I drove up and down Mason Road this afternoon and even every other road off of ours.....no Millie...

You are still checking with the shelters?
My heart just goes out to you. One of our cats left home for 3 days one time and I just about died. She finally showed back up. We're sending all kinds of positive thoughts that she finds her way home.

The substitute mail carrier said she saw Millie with a small beagle type dog when she delivered the mail on Monday on Mason Road (off of Andrews Mill). I was unsuccessful when I searched that area previously but I went again. Also, a gentleman who worked at the Red Hill Schoolhouse on election day said he overheard a middleaged man looking at my missing poster and saying that he'd seen that dog on his road that very morning but he wasn't sure who he was or where he lived....and the man never called me.

I found a bloodhound breeder in Idaho who runs a rescue and she told me I needed to put out a scent trail for Millie. She said she's still so young and has probably crossed her own path so many times that she couldn't find her way back home....she said with bloodhounds they are ruled by their nose and all other logic and senses go out the window. She said I'd either have to find her or leave her enough scents to find me.... I took off on Wednesday and walked to the end of Andrews Mill Road (old Rocky Pointe) and walked back towards my house leaving a scent trail every few feet in hopes that if she's still in our area that she'll pick up on it and find her way home.

Flyers with her picture have made it into the hands of Al. Power workers in the area, the CESWA, the propane companies, the exterminators and dish contractors as well as the road crew resurfacing hwy 63.....

OOOPS> just got a call that someone thinks they saw Millie on the road behind the Russell Do It Center in Eclectic headed towards Central....said it looked just like her....GOTTA GO - PRAY IT'S HER.....

You and Millie have been in my thoughts and prayers. It was so smart of you to get the word out to all those people that are routinely out and about. Everytime my husband and I are out and about, we keep our eyes peeled. I just don't know if anywhere we are traveling is where she might be.
I'm still fairly new to the lake, and I'm wondering in what area she is lost. Continued positive thoughts that you are able to find her. I think it is positive that people think they are seeing her.

Call it a gut feeling, but there is a house being built on Castaway Road (not far from Hwy 50) and I feel like they know more about Millie than I'm finding out. If anyone knows any of these workers, please see if one of them now has a female bloodhound at home.... She's been spayed (so cannot be used to breed), she's a bloodhound not a hunting hound (hasn't been trained to track), she eats 40 lbs of food a week (and doesn't hesitate to let you know when she's hungry), sleeps in the house and is nothing more than a pet that is loved and an integral part of the family.

Why would anyone pick her up, seeing that she had on a hot pink harness with contact information, pictures of MISSING MILLIE everywhere and not call me....leaving me to lie awake at night worrying if she's alive, if she's warm, if she's hungry, if she's scared, if she's trying to find her way home...

PLEASE, SOMEBODY HAS TO HAVE SEEN SOMETHING OR KNOW WHERE SHE IS.....please...
