Would any of the locals mind posting the areas that might be getting bad weather? We are back east and do not know the conditions there. After surveying the damage last week in Columbine, a neighborhood away from our home, we are rather nervous. Be safe and thanks for your help!

it's all up around B'ham right now......will probably hit the lake area later tonight.

I'm at the Lake. No tornado warning here as of 7:30. We've got a watch. But all the bad stuff right now is going through Northwestern AL and around Chelsea outside of B'ham.

Same here, siren went off about 15 minutes ago. Sirens are on a county wide alert. I've been checking the radar, but do not see a vortex cell identified anywheres near the lake. I am signed with weather call for my cell phones (whole family). It will call me with an alert (severe t-storm or tornado warning)). Nothing yet. $10.00 for a year, 5 phones.

I think WSFA also offers something like this. But I am a sky watcher so that is the one I use and report things to.

Would really appreciate any reports from around the lake, looks like Tornado warnings for Coosa and surrounding counties!
|
me too. I decided to hunker down in GA today when I got off work so I'm watching from a virtual world (although it's supposed to hit GA later tonight). WSFA just reported a tornado on the ground in Elmore county heading into Tallapoosa county.

I heard a reporter on WSFA in Santuck where they had damage, and lots of sirens going up Highway 9. If you are going to check on your lakehouse, wait until morning and keep in mind that some areas may not be accessible.

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I hope and pray you made it through the storm. It seems that we have been spared again. Both of my sisters live in Tuscaloosa and are fine but the town looks like a bomb went off. Time to count our blessings. We also had tornadoes at home here in Frederick, MD that we had to dodge early this morning. I will live at the lake full time when I retire in 2 months. If I can repay the favor let me know. God Bless!
