Understand that this isn't exactly lake related, but I wanted to sing their praises anyway.
My BIL/SIL's lab got really sick while they were down at the beach. They took him to the emergency clinic down there, but they couldn't find anything. Took him to our local vet, and she couldn't find anything either on Xrays or bloodwork. She referred him to the Auburn clinic and they saved his life. He had a small tear between his intestines and stomach. He was a very sick doggy. Today he's coming home.
Last year, they treated my cat. Unfortunately, I lost him, but they were able to diagnose him -- it was cancer. The student who treated him, and the attending vet, were very nice, very gentle and very honest.
I'm just in awe of the vet school clinic. A referral is needed from your regular vet, but they are wonderful. Very professional, and very caring. They also go over the options for treatments and the cost of each option, in case cost is a factor.
I know a lot of the local vets around the lake went there.

We spent lots of time and money there last year. Our end result was not so good but it was through no fault of the clinic. They were unrelenting in their efforts to diagnose our problem. They don't try to make you a research project either although they will give you every option to get the diagnosis. I can't say enough good things about the practices and the quality of care there. (And I'm a Georgia Bulldog too :-)
If you have a seriously ill animal or ever have something weird that is out of your vet's ballpark go there without hesitation. Caring wise they are the greatest from top to bottom. They understand the bond between your and your pets. If you have any questions please send me an email.

Auburn folks care about all of God's creatures...even those in Tuscaloosa and Athens.

Auburn's national reputation is mostly known for their large animal practice.
UGA's national reputation is known for it's small animal practice.
I guess it's the Dawg thing....

That's interesting. I guess it makes sense when you notice all the farm "labs" that surround the school in Auburn.
As for UGA's natural affinity for dogs.... LOL
