Seems to me that they have open hearings where those who support their narrative (e.g, Ms Second Hand Susie) are allowed max TV time but if the person might not support that narrative (e.g. Cippalone (sp), one of Trump's lawyers) it is done behind closed doors.  Hypocrisy at its finest.

I've been watching when I was home.  Some witnesses seem like they are speaking their experience and others I don't buy.  C. Hutchins testimony was all hear say. Yes, they are filtering what gets heard and shown, but the facts are there - we heard Trumps speech, we have seen people entering the Capitol, we have heard people saying "hang Mike Pence".  I think most of us can surmise what was going on at the WH - given the fact that we know Trump loves TV and that, by that point, his ego was out of control.  It's been interesting to me to hear former members of Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, since until in recent years, I knew nothing about them and what they believed in.  Now pretty much, I think they are low intelligence people that can be easily stirred to emotion and stupid actions.  

Frankly, I'm done with Trump; I'm done with Biden.  I have to say that right now, as much as I love this counttry, I think we are in a serious downward spiral thanks to the lack of leadership from any party.

Remember this about the hearings, there is no cross examination so only the most egregious errors and lies get exposed and only those willing to provide negative statements make it on the televised hearing.  In essence you are hearing the prosecution's side of the story with prosecutors that are immoral and unethical also acting as judge and jury.  Who wouldn't look bad in a show trial like this and as Stalin said, show me the man and I'll show you the crime. This is a statement made by Zoe Lofgren, who is on the committee, to Jake Tapper, "We never call in witnesses to corroborate other witnesses or to give their reaction to other witnesses,"  So believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see in these hearings.  I've read every word of Trump's speech and he is clearly not responsible for what happened.  The more I see the more I think there were a large number of provacatuers in the crowd and they relied on the herd mentality to get people to storm the Capitol.  The more we hear the more I have come to believe this.  

Like you, I don't plan to vote for Trump in the primaries but I will 100% vote for him if he is the nominee.  As we've seen over the last two years, as objectionable as Trump was personally, his policies are far superior to the Democrats and his concept of America first is far superior to the America last approach of Democrats.  But I really, really, really hope he doesn't run.  But if he does I expect him to win as the others will split the primary vote just like when he won the first nomination.  The problem is the other viable candidates understand this dynamic so I am afraid we will only get opponents that have no hope like Pence, Cotton, Pompeo, et al.  My opinion is DeSantis is the only one with a remote chance of beating Trump in the primaries.....but not if there are 27 others splitting the vote.

That's why I think you have to listen critically to the hearings - we are only hearing the prosecuters side and not the whole picture.  But you can't disregard the facts that are true.  I still like to think that people that are under oath will tell the truth, if they even have a shred of moral character.  I think what really bothers me is some of the sleeze balls that Trump had around him as "advisors" who seem to have lost their grip on reality.  Bannon, Rudy, Eastman, etc.  

Yes, DeSantis seems to be the best bet, but Hogan from Maryland claims that people are begging hin to run.  He's a Republican.  I think DeSantis could lead this country back to some sanity.

Hogan is a RINO and has zero chance of winning the nomination.  The only people begging him to run are the ones that would financially benefit from it.  He is worse than Jeb! when it comes to his RINO quals.  DeSantis would be acceptable to a lot of Trump partisans.....the others not even close.  If you want to understand who Democrats fear most look who they and their lapdogs in the media attack most often....DeSantis by a wide margin.

I think your belief that people will tell the truth in a Congressional hearing is at odds with the facts.  They lie all the time as we saw with Hutchison.  They do so because they know if their lies are consistent with the narrative they will never be prosecuted.  I do agree that some of the people Trump surrounded himself with were not the greatest.......but still far better than the anti-American, leftist nut jobs controlling DJ.  And I say that mostly because I don't think anyone was controlling Trump....he goes his own way to his benefit and detriment.

I agree that Trump goes his own way, but when you have irresponisble people surrounding him, egging on his worst impulses, it's a problem.  Nothing Trump likes more than to hear that he is right. and the syncophants were more than happy to do that.  when anyone tries to talk sense to him, he immediately rejects them as "against him". 

It's going to be interesting to see who ends up being the nominees in 2024.

Pat Cipollone requested that his testimony be behind closed doors but agreed it could be recorded. He did not contradict Hutchinson's testimony.
