Trolling Motor Battery Recommendation

Recentlybecame the owner of a fishing kayak with a 55 lb thrust trolling motor. Battery that came with it is a Walmart product that is inadequate. Have done a lot of on line searching and like everything else there are myriad choices, some involving a double fistful of shekels.
Any "been there, done that" recommendations? Seems LiFePO4are the best, but quite a bit more than the lead acid AGM varieties. I wont be needing it to last all day but also dont want to have to paddle home, lol.

If your budget allows, LiFePO4 batteries are the best choice for lightness, long life, and good performance. However, if you want to save on initial costs, AGM batteries are still a viable and reliable option. slice master
Wishing you great fishing trips and never having to row home!

Did end up with a LiFePO4, and there were so many choices I ended up buying the Amazon recommended product. Very impressed with the weight...or lack thereof...and haven't been on any extended angling sessions yet...daughter's wedding prep actions seem to fill any potential calendar openings....ah, but after 29 June...!!

Hi, Doyou know what factors should one consider when choosing between LiFePO4 and AGM batteries for use in a fishing or boating application, and how can the Amazon recommendation process be leveraged to select the most suitable LiFePO4 battery?

In case of fishing or boating, few aspects such as the battery backup, the weight of the unit and the charging time should be given due consideration. This makes LiFePO4 batteries to be lighter in weight and to have longer cycles than the flooded ones though they tend to be more expensive. Nevertheless, AGM batteries are much cheaper and more durable on average. For Amazon, look for value based reviews and ratings coupled with those that are high ranking and especially those offering a detailed description of performance.
