Biden never fails to keep up his gaffe-fest of a campaign.  First it was his inability to keep from groping little girls and now he was reminiscing for the good old days when he was working with racist, segregationist Democrat Senators from the south.  Grab your popcorn and watch for his primary opponents to jump all over this most recent gaffe.  And watch the govt media complext jump into overdrive to tell everyone what a progressive lover of minorities Creepy Uncle Joe is.  Of course had Mitch done this the coverage would be wall to wall calling him a racist and demanding his head on a platter.

Here's a prediction.  He is going to have to go all in for reparations in order to overcome this latest stupidity.  When you are a closet racist getting all misty eyed thinking about working with racist Senators you obviously have to overcompensate and that is what he will have to do to compensate for this idiocy.

Goofy:  No idea what Obama would do but what Biden said speaks for itself and will not age well with blacks, especially when they have to weigh the Obama/Biden economy versus the one they are currently experiencing.  Besides, Obama probably liked Biden cause he recognized that he was clean and articulate......  As for your last sentence, it literally makes no sense.

I don't think Joe Biden is a racist, but I fear he may have to come out in favor of reparations to secure the black vote.  (I'm not a racist, but where do reparations end?  Has it ever worked to try to solve a problem throwing money at it?)

Have been watching "My Big Idea" every night on the NBC evening news - which allows each Democratic candidate to state their "big idea" for the Presidency.  Every big idea involves spending money to create something we can't afford, including reparations).  

But getting back to Joe Biden, I hope he is the Democratic candidate and that he runs against Trump.  I think Biden will be beaten, unless of course, he gets Michelle Obama to run with him.  If a democrat has to win (and I don't think this is assured) I'd rather have one closer to middle than someone on the far Left

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't know one way or the other about what he really thinks but I suspect you are correct.  I just think he's a walking, talking gaffe machine and would be an absolutely lousy President.  Do I wish Trump were more affable like Uncle Joe?  Some of the time, yes.   But would I exchange affability for lack of results and more of the same lousy ideas that we got from Obama?  Not a chance.

As for reparations, what they are talking about doing is punishing those that never owned slaves in order to reward those that were never slaves.  And as with any Democrat idea, it's always about the money going to the government so they can decide how it's doled out.  They are following in the footsteps of LBJ in securing the black vote for another 30 years through another redistribution scheme.  It's really just another form of slavery and I hope that community will see that they are far better off with a strong economy than being beholden to Democrat politicians to give them a bit of their ill-gotten gain.  Time will tell.......

So you are in favor of reparations?  Can you explain to me how this will work.  Say, everyone that is alive right now that had a slave for a relative somewhere in their past - say 150 years.  So we pay those people.  Then where does it stop?  What about the next generation and future generations?  We'll just keep paying and paying and apologizing and apologizing when will it be enough?  Never.  It will be a new kind of welfare system.  Corey Booker wants to give every baby born a $1000 bond, so they will have  $50K  when they are 18. Hmm, how many of those kid's bonds will be available for them.

You realize that white people may have a slave in their family history.  Not in my family, because unfortunately, I was born in the north and my ancesters all came from Northern Europe, so no money for me.  

I do think that Biden was trying to harken back to a time when the Congress could actually work together and get things done, and the two he chose just happened to be segregationists.  Don't worry, all the other candidates are jumping on this to condemn Biden.  Too bad it's not closer to the election.  By the time they narrow it down to one candidate, everyone will have forgotten about it.
