Let's play "remember when?" Answer yes or no, and submit a memory of your own. Here's the first:

Remember when Dolph Worthy ran Kowaliga Restaurant and the store next door, and Toppy Hodnett ran the marina?

okay i'll bite. no i do not know either of those people. my memories of the store and restaurant take me back to my college days. about 8 to 12 of us would camp out (where they built the bridge to nowhere ...best camping spot on the lake!) and go over to the restaurant to eat breakfast on Saturday mornings. we would get supplies from the store. we loved it! the place would be packed...whoa, brings back lots of memories...

Oh yeah, the good old days! I remember Dolph and Toppy. Do you remember when the only grocery store in Alex City was the Piggly Wiggly, AND for bonus points: who owned it?

Do you remember when skiing having to dodge the milk jugs that were tied to the trout lines.
That was when there were only a few houses had seawalls
Also the smells of the old two stroke outboard

I remember Toppy and Dolph, and Dot Richardson too, as someone mentioned below.

Here's mine: remember when you could pick up a copy of Lake Martin Living for free, and not feel like you had gotten ripped off?

I was never sure whether Dot's last name was Robertson or Robinson, and now I have to add Richardson to the list???

And you LML comment is... wait for it... priceless! And also very true.
