Early in the Coronovirus pandemic (mild flu l guess you call it) you had high praise for Dr Deborah Birx for her optimistic analysis of the situation and even challenged me to pay more attention to her and less to Dr Fauci.  Several weeks ago Dr Birx seemed to become more publically concerned about the situation and, in response to my post, you threw her under the bus.  Yeaterday she appeared on Meet the Press and was even much more scathing in her criticism of our national response to COVID with her strongest words reserved for the poor response by southern governors.  What is your opinion of Dr Birx now?  Are you going to take out your garden hoe and push her even further under the bus to punish her for her spreading panic about this health ''non-crisis''?

I am not quite sure that I understand the gist of your question Archie.  If you want my opinion of Dr. Birx, she has a full cohort of academic qualifications and epidemiological experience.  Early on, the medical community knew how various Corona viruses behaved, but not this one.  The healthcare community was pretty much in the dark until more clinical experience was gained by not only academic institutions, but also those in private practices.  Alot has been learned about this virus.  Alot has been learned about what works and what does not.  I have not seen alot of flexibility with Birx as of late, and that concerns me.  But this is what bureaucrats are known for.  She is auditioning for a position with the Biden administration, so therefore, she cannot come off her lockdown stance.  

So bottom line, I have not followed what Birx or Fauci have said for months now.  They have become irrelevant in my opinion.  If she continues to advocate for anything that Trump disagrees with, I am sure the MSM will give her the platform.  Bottom line Archie, you do what you believe protects YOU, following the advice of those you respect.  I will continue to do the same for myself.  Enough information is out there, you just have to ferret out the bureaucratic non-sense and follow the science.  Good luck and I hope you stay healthy.

That even though you encouraged me personally to listen to Dr Birx rather than Fauci back in April, you are now kicking her even further under the bus because her medical expertise, analysis, and recommendations that you once praised are now going counter to those of that world reknowned and most respected virologist Donald Trump that has you firmly in his cult. Your proclamation that you have not listened to Dr Birx or Dr Fauci for months speaks volumes to that end.  

I hope you stay well too, but really you would stand a lot better chance if you actually were guided by the science being followed by the medical community rather than the “science” being pushed by politicians.

So sorry that I used big words and long sentences Archie.  I will attempt to simplify things for you here.  Early on, individuals like Fauci and Birx and the team that Trump assembled had the "most experience" with viral pandemics and were all that anyone could hang their hat on.  But if you remember when it was suggested that ibuprofen not be used to treat fevers with COVID, it was soon debunked as individuals gained experience with this disease.  

Good science, which includes the ability to replicate and is subject to peer review TAKES TIME.  If an individual, with sterling credentials similar to Birx and Fauci, (not me) disagree with their interpretation and reaction to good science and data, why do you consider that throwing someone under the bus?  Disagreements in science occur all the time. Birx may have been accurate early on, but again, I consider her irrelevant now.  That is the product of scientific and social scrutiny that has occurred over the past 8 months.  You tend to look for a problem that does not exist Archie.

if you have fallen for the BS of fake scientists like Atlas rather than facts of the real scientists then you are a nutty and biased and dangerous as those you follow and you, like them. deserve to bear the deep stain of politicizing science.

Some early assumptions and proposed treatments (Hydroxychloriquin!!) were debunked and much has been learned but anything that would make this less a crisis is not among them.  Today 280,000 people are dead!  Are you surprised or do you still insist it is not a ''crisis'' and that Trump ''won'' the election?

I did hear that Biden said if we can just wear our masks another 100 days that all would be better, so glad he came up with such an origional idea that for the majority of the population  only been done for the previous 200+ days.

that CRD and MM and the rest of the forever Trumpers will decide against getting the vaccine.  It too is rapidly becoming politicized with the Trump crowed already backing off taking the medecine.  An interview of attendees at the Trump super spreader event in Valdosta found most saying they had no intention of getting the vaccine because Covid is not serious.  Getting 70% to take the vaccine might actually finally enable the economy to come roaring back just in time for Biden to get the credit.  We sure don't want that to happen.
