Had a group of my son's friends who are in their upper 20's to low 30's at the lake this weekend. Very eclectic group, lots of long hair and tatoos. Range of races including Asian and African American. I deliberately avoided discussion of politics, BLM, Wuhan virus but listened to them. Some key takeaways. They do not like President Trump at all. They think he is un-presidential, don't like his personal tweets and think he is obnoxious. But they had almost no problems with the results of his presidency and don't blame him for the Wuhan virus. They think he's made lots of mistakes but they think the Governors and Mayors were no better.
By far the biggest surprise to me was they detest Biden more than Trump. And they had nothing good to say about the Obama presidency. They think BLM is a bunch of marxists that don't really care about the lives of black people and are just about politics. Likewise they were disgusted with the behavior of some of the police but think defunding the police is madness. They likewise detest Nancy Pelosi and to a person think AOC is an imbecile.
I never asked any of them who they were going to vote for but my strong guess is they will either sit out the election or hold their nose and vote for Trump. Interestingly many of them really liked Andrew Yang. I found that a bit discordant with their other views. The African American young lady was particularly disgusted with Biden's comments about poor kids being as smart as white kids and if you don't vote for Biden you ain't black. She is a massage therapist and works for a natural supplements store and recently moved from Seattle because of the madness there.
No intent to extend these observations beyond the fact that I was very surprised. As a group they are socially liberal but economically moderate to conservative with a libertarian bent. Very pro 2nd amendment as well.

It really did make me wonder if there is a silent majority that will vote for Trump but won't admit it to pollsters or tell anyone out of fear they will be persecuted. One of them said as soon as the riots and defund the police started to happen they immediately went out and registered to vote. Suffice it to say if Biden is counting on the black and youth vote he may be in for a Hillary level shocker.

Did any of them refer to COVID 19 as Wuhan Virus?

Did any of them wear masks while not in the water?
Did you request that they wear masks?
Did you wear a mask?
Did they show any effort to distance themselves?
If any of them come down with COVID 19 will you feel any responsibility?
If you come down with COVID 19 tomorrow will you contact all of them and inform them they may have been exposed?
Did any of them, especially the black and Asian kids, specifically say they intended to vote for Trump?
If even one single person in this group thought Trump had even one single positive characteristic it is very different from the 16 to 18 year olds my granddaughter hangs with! I guess my granddaughters friends are not ''America'' in the eyes of Lifer and your other fellow travelers on this forum.

Who can really blame young people for hating politicians. They see that politics has become devisive. It doesn't surprise me that they liked Andrew Yang. I honestly think he is representative of that generation - they are willing to try new things. They have grown up with technology in a way we didn't and I think that is very significant. They think about things differently than we do. To them, Trump and Biden are just old white men, of the kind that got us to this point. I think the younger generation doesn't see race - they are more acceptig of each other. I can believe that they don't like BLM. I wonder if they aren't seeing that BLM is using black people to advance a political agenda.

Interestingly, my wife was uncomfortable about the way they were talking about BLM around the young black woman. I told her that our kids and their friends don't see people based on the color of their skin....they just see people. It's those of us that grew up in the 60's and 70's that seem more fixated on race. They never saw or experienced Jim Crow laws and have grown up being friends with people of color. I really think this is the way most people are but they get drowned out by the race baiters.
Interesting observation about Andrew Yang. I just thought his views were not aligned with theirs so maybe it is a generational thing. It did bother me that when I asked what they liked about him all I got were vague responses about him having some good ideas. I really think they never really focused in on his actual views and were more impressed with his youth and style of presenting himself.

It has to be very difficult for the younger generation to get excited between a 74 yr old and a 76 yr old. Then you look at the Senate and Mitch is 78 and Miss Nancy is 80. Sad that this great country has to rely on Seniors to run it when normal retirement is 65.

The last question is so racist and bigoted I would be OK with the webmaster cancelling you. Sad thing is you are too dense to even know it or recognize it after having it pointed out.
Once again you prove to be a liar. If you have me on ignore you shouldn't be reading my posts. But the real kicker is that you think 16-18 yo think and act the same as 20's to early 30 somethings.
Your ignorance is only exceeded by your TDS.

I too think he is un-presidential, don't like his personal tweets and think he is obnoxious. And I can't wait to vote for him again.

I have a son-in-law who keeps his opinions to himelf. (Hmmmmm... this could be a trend.)
My daughter is distraught trying to sort it all out (she is an elementary school teacher).
Meanwhile... the MSM and FB and Twitter... continue to churn out the "Henny-Penny" thesis.
As a REAL scientist... I am dismayed at the inability of citizens to think (critically) for themselves.
