Based on my observation of your many posts, I think I am correct in saying that you are comfortably retired in Atlanta in a desirable neighborhood with adequate fire protection, police protection, healthcare facilities, entertainment venues, etc. In addition, it is likely that you live within the confines of a housing development that includes a fence or wall around its borders with limited points of entrance monitored by security guards and security cameras. This type of environment makes it more difficult to visualize that areas such as our national borders are faced with significantly greater problems concerning safety, security, and illegal entry into our country.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Architect, now consider that you have just inherited 20 acres with a home on the Texas/Mexico border and you decide to leave the hustle and bustle of big city life and move to your new abode. Shortly after your arrival and meeting some of your new neighbors on either side, you note one big difference. Their borders with Mexico are separated with fences or some other type of barrier. That is when you notice  that there is no fence or barrier between your property and the Mexican border. You also come to learn that Jose' who is on the Mexico side of the border is making sure that his fellow Mexican counterparts are aware of your new arrival and the ease they will have trespassing on your property. Do you start looking for a "Contractor" to build a wall or barrier, or do you immediately start looking for a "Real Estate Agent"?

Archie is sleeping and I have the night shift.  So,  I'll give you my approach....First, I would say Como esta usted...Then, Como se llama...I would go the fridge and offer the thirsty dude(s) an ice cold Corona Extra... Then, I would whip out a voter registration card and tell him this was the card needed to use my yard as his entry point. If he refused to complete the card,  I would lead him back to Mexico and say Hasta luego, senor.

Now as to the 2nd paragraph:

1/. I am one who believes if l owned hell and Texas l would live in hell and rent out Texas...I would never “move” to Texas voluntarily!

2/  lf did live on a border l might consider building a modest fence if it made sense.  I would not build a “F U brown man” wall!

3/  l for damn sure would not invite the likes of Donald Trump to confiscate my land through imminent domain to use my tax money to build his on “F U brown man” wall!!!

1. I am 74 but not retired because l like working!

2. I have lived in a house built in 1936 for 38 years.  Yes, l have good fire, police and healthcare facilities (of course since it is in the city of Atlanta I’m sure MM and Wix would disagree...no way black folks can efficiently run anything)!

3.  I live in a close Intown neighborhood from the 1920’s - 30’s.  There are NO walls or gated entrances to my neighborhood and we like it that way!

Maybe you need to rethink your ability to make assumptions about other people.

You claim to be an architect but have never offered us an example of your work. Most architects are proud to declare what buildings/structures they design.

You have a fence

You have never been "scared of or intimidated by" your black neighbor

You wanted us to believe your house was bought for 75k and s now worth 750k and you have done nothing but live in it (thosof us familiar with the city know the entire area has been through gentrifacton)

You didn't know the difference between moot and mute. (But that didn't stop you from trying to correct and embarass the writer, me, for not knowing how to spell mute) A refresher on the English language for you. Moot = insignificant Mute = silent

You think you are the smartest person in every conversaton

You consistently prove otherwise

You are too ignorant to see the racism in some of your statements (see above)

You vehemently oppose Voter ID but recently discovered you can't use debit/credit card at your local market without ID

You will argue with a practicing physician/surgeon about the state of healthcare/medial insurance in America today.

You suffer from TDS.

But the biggest and stupidest lie you tried to make us believe is that you have a doctor friend working at Children's Hospital who has patients that have hato declare bankruptcy due their medical bills. Of course all readers with connected brain cells know that Children's Hospitals NEVER bill patients and even provide food, housing and travel expenses to families of patients

PS:  No way do l consider myself the smartest poster on this forum...that ''honor'' belongs to MM.  He is always the smartest guy in the room, if you don't believe me just ask him.

PPS:  I am an architect and have designed several hundred buildings over the last 50 years (mostly residential) including a house on Lake Martin.  I am proud of them and proud of the several that have been published and/or won awards.  That being said, I would have to be as crazy as you are to name any of my works so that one of your rightwing gun toting buddies  knows where to find me.  I have a lot more fear of some of the nuts on this forum than I do my black neighbor...a retired army officer that would be appalled by what is said by you and some others on this forum!

PPPS: I do NOT have a fence, nor a gate.  In fact I didn't even have an alarm system until a couple of years ago when our daughter insisted we get one after her suburban neighbor'some was broken into by a couple of well to do private school white kids from a nearby sub-division.

PPPPS:  Please tell me where I can find a post about a doctor friend at a children's hospital that has patients declaring bank-ruptcy due to medical expenses...BTW: where did you get the idea that no children's hospitals charge for their services?

While I'm not sure, I guess it's time for me to reenter the fray which I started on the "Hypothetical for Architect". I didn't realize that trying to add a little diversity to the forum would open up a hornet's nest. If everyone could just take a step back, take a deep breath, and reevaluate in an "honest and unbiased" way what is "best" for America at this point in time in our history. Yes, easier said than done, but unless we step back and come to our senses on both sides of the aisle, we are jeopardizing the future of our children and grandchildren on something I think we all know is called "one-upsmanship", known to us all as "the art or practice of successively outdoing a competitor". The "failure" of people to be willing to meet, discuss the nature of their differences, and agree on a logical solution that will be beneficial to all affected can easily resuit in "serious consequences" detrimental to everyone. Ask yourself, "WHAT CAN I DO FOR MY COUNTRY"?                                                                                                                                                                                                                   I intended for this to be a new "post" but for some reason i "screwed" up. Hopefully it will still be read in hopes of getting us all to  to take a "serious" look at "ourselves" and ask do we "really" like what we see?
