We have lived through Obama's last overseas trip, his last summit, his last interview and I thought his last press conference.  But no, I hear he plans to speak to the press after the inauguration on Friday.  My sister and I have been discussing how many lasts we will be forced to suffer through - last backward glance at the WH, last trip to the bathroom in the WH?  

I don't recall any time when the media has paid so much attention to the departing President.  His moving van at the new house? yes, that has been reported.  As far as his 60% approval rating, don't forget polls can say anything, depending on how you word the questions and who you ask. 

And then will be faced with reporting on all his "firsts"?  Will we ever be done with him?

At the final news conference of his presidency, Mr. Obama made clear on Wednesday that he finds some ideas advanced by President-elect Donald J. Trump so alarming that he laid out markers that would draw him back into the fray.

“There’s a difference between that normal functioning of politics and certain issues or certain moments where I think our core values may be at stake,” Mr. Obama told reporters in the White House briefing room.

Mr. Obama continued: “I put in that category if I saw systematic discrimination being ratified in some fashion. I put in that category explicit or functional obstacles to people being able to vote, to exercise their franchise. I’d put in that category institutional efforts to silence dissent or the press. And for me at least, I would put in that category efforts to round up kids who have grown up here and for all practical purposes are American kids, and send them someplace else, when they love this country.”

I am ready for some change - better or worse time will tell.

He needs to follow the Bush model of former presidents.  But I don't think he intends to do that.  He is planning on holding a press confrerence after the inauguration.

Would be nice, but from his last month I feel much like goofie he is going to jump out at every opportunity to explain how he is doing it wrong.
