Do you cruise in the area and see them on the surface and go to them? Or are you already fishing at certain spots / docks and just see them working shallow? Or do you find them on a fish finder?

And how early AM / late PM are you talking?

Thanks for the help!!

John ,I cruse areas of the  lake i have fished in the past. Look for what I call NERVOUS WATER.any unusual change in wave patterns caused by schools of shad on the surface. Also active feeding fish ,you cant miss this site.Sometimes they come completely out of the water.Use -run and gun method, work one school till it goes down then go to the next school, lots of fun. As for time the fish are active all day now better early morn -late evening (less boat traffic) Hope this helps. They will only be active on the surface for about 2 weeks. Good luck.

Rooster tails work great for schooling stripe also. Have caught 2 on the lure together several times. Fun times!
