Lakeview Heights has been in the dark since 12:25pm. Just so any part-timers will know. Trucks are in the area but we are still dark. Will post again when they get us back online. Any other areas in the dark?

I am in Montgomery but sounds like things are pretty rough in the lake area. Report on Tallapoosa county say multiple trees and power lines down as of 2 p.m. WSFA News reportrs 45.000 without service statewide. About 13.000 are without service, mostly in the Auburn, Opelika and Notasulga areas. Many outages in the Alex City, Dadeville and Tallassee areas. Anyone have any specifics in the Blue Creek area of the lake?

Our house is in the Blue Creek area (Win Blue Lane) and we're down here this week. The power went out at about 2:30 p.m. but came back on at 3:35 p.m...only out slightly over an hour! How lucky is that? Now, I just hope it stays on! Good luck everyone!

APCO is on the ball. I called back expecting to get an automated report but talked to a very nice lady that explained they didn't have an estimated for restoration and the reason was a downed tree. After a few minutes I decided to ride out and have a look to determine if I needed to fire the generator up. As I was walking out the door the power came back on.

Thanks for the updates, lifer.  Little lady will probably ride up tomorrow just to check to make sure everything came back on ok.

I'm not sure what you call our area of the lake - it's part of the overall Parker Creek, but through the Narrows (not too far from Smith's Marina)  Our power was off at 4 am this morning, came on about 6am and has been on the rest of the day.  It's still raining here but not as much as earlier.  We did have some wind, but nothing scary.  DH rode out our sideroads to Coosa 20 up to the cemetary and the roads are clear.  News is saying that winds may pick up tonight.

Yes, you are generally Parker Creek, but doesn't Chapman Creek feed your area?  Maybe your location is Parker Creek/Chapman Creek?

I don't know.  Isn't Chapman Creek through the Needles Eye?

Maybe it is Okachoy Creek.

You are closest to Oakochoy. We also used to call it the Girls Scout area. They used to own the undeveloped area on the northeast area after going through the narrows/needles eye. It was also a big local hang out back in the day. Have no clue who owns it now. It s accessed off Cedar Creek Rd. I never fact checked it, that's just what the locals called it.

You are correct, my mistake.  it is Oakachoy.  I believe Chapman actually runs under AL 259 at about mile marker 4.
