one of the guys in our club heard that they were going to drop the lake level to do some work on the dam. Is this true?

That rumor has been floating around the lake since early last season and multiple calls to APCO resulted in there is no planned maintenance to the dam that requires the water to be lowered to any certain level well below normal. As when the lake floods I am sure APCO would put some sort of notice out for people that have boats or piers that would be affected by such a drop in the water level. nothing more than a rumor

I asked the same question from the APCO permit guy. He said the same thing. Rumor been going around for years. But I've heard it twice this year. Tismis the third time. It bothers me though that APCO got a variance from FERC for drought conditions formLake Martin yet they are hold us below 460 even with all the rain we've had.

Its been below 459 at least 2 times during all this rain, just can't figure those guys out.Hope the reason isn't that they don't know what they are doing.

Im kind of hoping it stays low for a few more weeks.... have not been able to get up there and clean up around the dock. Hope everyone is doing well and I am looking forward to Spring time on the water again...... seems almost like spring every day lately anyway

Bobcat, unless the level of the lake rises alot, be cautious of clear creek marina.  There is a huge rock pile at the end of the ramp about 6 to 8 inches below the surface.  Don't know why the owners will not resolve this issue.  You may want to try relocating to Poorhouse Branch Marina.
