How was it? I flew over about 4:30 and it looked like a very decent crowd both boats in the water and people driving in. Just wondering? Peace, <>< TC

I/We had an outstanding time..... the music was good and you could hear from the water and the vendors seemed to be getting a good bit of traffic..... Its a shame these are not planned regularly. Cudos to the people that prepared it I hope it was a success for you.

I got distracted at Treasure Island and never made it. That Island is pretty awesome. Gotta go back there.

Saturday looked like there was a steady flow of people, I tried a BBQ sandwich from Butts to Go which is the people that BBQ all the time at Texaco in Pell City. It was really good, better than Fat Man's or Golden Rule.

Did not make it back Sunday..... the sun will drain you..... nice and calm Sunday with minimal effort. I hope they plan another one of these though I heard no complaints so far.

That little island folks have been hanging out at. About halfway between Lakeside and Powells. I think some have been calling it Pleasure Island. I really don't know the whole story. First time I have stopped there. But there's a nice beach on the upstream side. The island blocks most of the wakes from the passing boats and it's a nice sandy bottom for swimming and just lounging. We stayed a couple of hours and we'll go back. Beats burning gas like crazy. Theres a nice hammock, some cool chairs, tiki torches and a treasure chest full of beads, frisbies and footballs. One of the guys I was talking to said the owners wife bought it for him as an anniversary gift. They have just fixed it up with palm trees and such and welcome people to stop by.

Thanks for stopping by my booth and introducing yourself. It's nice to put a face to a name here.

Gotcha, There was a write up in the lake magazine about them a couple of years ago. I thought you had found a new public place to hang out. Our crowd is not for everyone and we would not intrude unless invited.

I'd like to meet the owners myself. But the folks I talked to said they encouraged folks to enjoy it. Just pick up after yourself.

I have heard they are really nice folks and welcome people to stop by but we have always been on the way to the rock or on the way home and never really had time to stop and enjoy.

This place is super cool. My kids love it. There used to be a treasure box n the island, and each time we'd bring something to leave in it, and let the kids choose something. This year there are ducks nesting in that area, though, so i guess they decided not to do it.
