He celebrates a .001 decrease in jobs losses for a 1 month period, loves government of take over of major portions of the auto, financial and soon to be, health care, industries. Not sure, but he might have already reported me to the White House 'snitch list' for expressing my convictions on this forum.. I can deal with it I guess and will sign any disclaimers Bruce may need in the future.

Yes I do celebrate the 0.1% (not.001%...did you study math with O'Reilly?) decrease in unemployment because it shows a marked improvement. if you are honest you will admit improvement is the last thing you want to see on Obama's watch. Please read my previous posts and find a single example of when I offered support to the auto bailout. I did support the financial bailout as a necessary evil without which the entire world banking system would have had a complete and unprecedented collapse. Greenspan agreed with that assessment last Sunday. I also pointed out that the bailout was designed by the sect'y of interior of a Republican President and the Fed Chm. appointed by that same Republican President. Obama supported it but he didn't design it. As for healthcare reform, on 2 occasions I have explained at length my ideas for reform which I believe you will find very different from any currently being discussed. I don't recall seeing your ideas, or are you silent because you think reform is not needed. If so I hope you never become seriously ill or lose your job and are faced with the resulting likely loss of your insurance. As for reporting you on the Snitch list, I doubt I really need to because I'm sure Mr. Obama already has your file left over from the Bush/Cheney wire taps.

If Obama had taken 10 percent of the egregious 787 billion spendulous package and turned it into a long-term individual income tax cut, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The economy would be in much better condition that it is now.
Personally, if I were to be assured that I would have an extra hundred bucks in my paycheck every month, I would be much more likely to go out and buy something...and thus continue to stimulate the economy.
But no, I have to read about the $80 million that went to the National Endowment for the Arts to support pornographic "art" displays.

reform is sorely needed and there are a number of alternative reform proposals by Republicans that make sense. The rub is that the majority party does not want to hear them. The main problem in Washington is found on this forum; both sides are quick to criticize and talk past each other. Often, we/they don't pay attention to what the other guy is saying. For example if you reread my post, I stated .001, as in 1/1000th, not .001%.

Do you have the cajones to retract your statement about O'Reilly math and apologize to husker?

I have the cajones to look for and speak the truth. O'Reilly in his response to a caller demonstrated he has not progressed beyond 2d grade math. Now continuing in the math discussion, Alahusker started this string by pointing out that the JOB LOSS in the latest month had been only .001 less (what ever that means). I misread his post thinking his statement to be about UNEMPLOYMENT RATE rather than JOBS LOST. I corrected his "math". I was wrong, the JOB LOSS in the most recent month was from 467000 in June to 247000 in July for an actual drop of 47% not 0.1% as I stated nor .001 as Alahusker claimed. Pretty good bad news for one month! Now I know this exercise is tedious and boring to most of you, but I do try to demonstrate occasionlly that I'm not as stupid as most of you think. I wish some of you would return the favor from time to time.

wrong also.. The 0.001 (1/1000th) decrease was for the unemployment RATE (not adjusted for agriculture), not job losses.. We all hope the ecomomy has bottomed out. However, comma, not certain a one month delta, with (only) 247K losses, is a reason for dancing on the table.. Next BLS report is due out on September 4th. Let's resume the thread them.. Hope I have to apologize to you again, Archie, my friend.
