We just purchased a home on Lake Martin. We are new to the area and spent this last week trying to get things in order. First, thanks to Steve, of Cathouse Marine, he and his family are everything this board says, and more; the boat has been running great. Second, Wanda from the Elmore County Courthouse, she walked us through everything we needed to be legal on and off the water. Third, Theresa, from Eclectic Family Pharmacy, for making us feel at home with Swimmers Ear problems. Fourth, Dr Rand, who made the necessary repairs to my sons ear, and still allowed him to swim for the rest of the week. Fifth, Dick, from Dixie Sailing Club, who hooked us up with a great old MC Scow to knock about the lake. Sixth, Mike, from the Septic Tank company; he showed up quickly and made the necessary repairs to allow us to continue using our new home. What a welcome to the Septic Tank club!!

There are many others, there seems to be common denominator around here; everyone is happy to see us and more than willing to help. I guess it's true what they say about Southern Hospitality. Once again, thanks for a terrific introduction to Lake Martin living.

BTW, I must thank Mr Rodney Griffith, Real Estate Agent extrordinare; he was instrumental in locating a fine home for us in Lake Martin.

Looking forward to Aquapalooza, we'll be in a 25' SanPan, and a 19' Checkmate (red/white), stop by and say hello.

John, Michelle, Taylor and Zachary

It was a pleasure to get you running tip top before hitting the lake. When I saw your number come up on caller I.D. I thought it was some of my buddies from Kenner, La. area. I had no idea it was someone from that area moving to Lake Martin that had been reading/lurking on the forum behind the scenes for sometime! Thanks for your business and support. Glad you are happy, and glad to have you as friends. Welcome to Alabama. May you enjoy many blessed days on the lake.

Steve

and the best place to live in the world. It never seems to amaze me how good it feels when someone new arrives at the lake and is excited just to be here. The worst day at the lake beats the best day anywhere else and I still believe that after being here for 34 years.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes. I don't think that was me at the rope swing, I havn't found that yet; too many other things to check out first. We saw people jumping from all over Acapulco Rock, I didn't know there were so many launching points. We will be back for Aquapalooza, see yall then.
