Please pass this along to everyone that you have on your e-mail list because this is just the beginning if this arrogant, egotistical, super liberal, president wannabe gets into office.... To all, I have read all of the emails from not only some of the MTOA board members, but from other Law Enforcement & Military personnel about Barack Obama's rudeness and what seems to be disgust for basically anyone in uniform. Well, it's my turn to add to the list of emailers and here it is: So members of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Police, (me included) and other local agencies inside Calhoun County are working with Secret Service in the security of Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama's bus arrives in Battle Creek and pulls into the stadium area. Before Mr. Obama exits the bus, he has the Secret Service get off and tell all Law Enforcement personnel in uniform that they now have to stand behind the bus so Mr. Obama is not seen with anyone in a Law Enforcement uniform before he gets off or while in the public view. So, everyone from Michigan State Police, Sheriff's Deptments and other agencies look at each other for a brief second, go and stand behind the bus out of sight so Mr. Obama does not have to see, or been seen with, what to him is 'undesirables' since he refuses to been seen or even acknowledge Military or Law Enforcement personnel in uniform. And he wants to be our commander-in-chief!
At a time of war and terrorism in our world, this presidental candidate who is being protected by various branches of the military & law enforcement at the tax payers expense, refuses to acknowledge, be seen with, have in his photographed background, any type of Military or Law Enforcement in uniform.
But this is not in the headlines or in the news or on TV. The TV news doesn't show us marching around behind the bus. In the future, look and see if you can see a single soldier or police officer in uniform when you see Obama. Why? I wonder what the story or media frenzy would be if it was Muslims, blacks, whites, Jews, or any other race, gender, religion, an d/or occupation, that Mr. Obama refused to be seen with or have around him.
Why would I make this up? Everyone in Law Enforcement knows we have traditionally had more funding under Democrats.
Just food for thought leading up to November 4th.

when something like this is posted. No excuses, no rebuttals...
And yet, if this were a McCain posting the attack would be on. What irony. I haven't seen one explanation from BO supporters on any of the postings that delve into his 'life experiences', his behaviour, his vacillating speeches...
It's all about the 'here and now' oratory. Doesn't matter if he says things with no substance. Doesn't matter if he can't back up any proposal with real numbers and facts. Doesn't matter if he makes 3 speeches in a day and gives a differing point of view at each one to match his audience. Consistency is irrelevant.
What kind of President will that make? Is anyone else tired of platitudes?

I heard it best last week when someone remarked, "you vote for who you TRUST the most." It is simply a shame, that economic issues that are certainly affecting almost every aspect of our lives in the here and now, are drowning out the calls for evaluation of character, experience, and integrity. It's as if the Americans can't walk and chew gum at the same time over significant issues because they have been told they can't. What has happened to the baby boomer generation?

It has turned into the baby Bottle generation. The days of "earning it" has faded away. I wonder how many would be where they are now if it wasn't for the work and foresight that our parents and grandparents lay down for us. show me a man / woman that believe in what our country was founded on that is my president

I went to the MTOA web site and looked a t the listing of the board of directors. Not seeing Mr. Kern's name as a board member I became curious and emailed the MTOA President, including the quote.
In the interest of full disclosure here is his response:
QUOTE:
As the President of the Michigan Tactical Officers Association I send you my sincerest apology for any misunderstandings Ofc Jason Kern's email may have caused. Ofc Kern's comments are in no way a representation of the Michigan Tactical Officers Association. The MTOA is a non-profit organization that provides training and resources to the tactical community in Michigan. We do NOT get involved in politics.
I was not in attendance at the event in question and can not speak about what transpired there. The MTOA does not get involved in politics; we had absolutely no representation at that event, or any other political rally. Ofc Kern was on-scene at the event representing the police agency he is employed with; he was NOT representing the MTOA.
The email in question was NOT an official MTOA correspondence.

I'm glad you did your research but all that means is Officer Kern is not an official spokesperson for the MTOA and by the way I don't remember him stating that he was any where in his email. He simply states that he is a member of that association. President Liess' statement certainly doesn't refute what Officer Kern said happened he just points out that Officer Kern does not represent the MTOA.
President Liess statement: "I was not in attendance at the event in question and can not speak about what transpired there. The MTOA does not get involved in politics; we had absolutely no representation at that event, or any other political rally. Ofc Kern was on-scene at the event representing the police agency he is employed with; he was NOT representing the MTOA."
As the statement by Liess plainly states he was not there but Officer Kern was there as a member of the Michigan State Police.

Just so you will know, I normally don't even forward much of this type stuff to any of my regular email contacts, but the person that sent this to me is a fine upstanding citizen and has never sent me anything that turned out to be bogus so I decided to post it.

It was that "dangling participle" at the end of the post that reads "Executive Board Member" that gave me the impression that Officer Kern was an MTOA board member.
In no way am I disagreeing with anything in his post, but if dumb ole me thinks he might be an MTOA board member, others might as well. Just setting the record straight before others with different motives try to belittle its content
I have little respect for Obama and Officer Kern's observations are further validation that he is the wrong choice.
Have a great lake day,

Playing devils advocate here. Perhaps he wants the public to see him "out front" and not some "protected" entity. Who really knows what and why something happened. I take all these kinds of "you gotta read this", "see what so and so says", etc with a very large grain of salt and dismiss most of it.

That is true for some people, but not for all. I'm a Baby Boomer. I started working part time when I was 16 years old. My kids began working around that age also. I was taught, as they were, that they would have to work the rest of their lives so they needed to learn the work ethic. They also are good solid citizens, with good jobs, and the same feeling (completely formed on their on, by the way) of skepticism regarding BO. So, it isn't just a personal thing.

It will not effect my vote. It is a vote for capitalism vs. Progressive Socialism. That is what it boils down to. I vote for capitalism any day of the week. Obama has already made the 6th grade social studies books for the public schools in the state of Alabama along with a glossy photo of him.

Gee, I thought we were talking about demonstrated performance, not empty promises!
So tell me, what has Obama DONE to deserve his picture being in textbooks other than a fantastic job of promoting himself?
Please, just FACTS. I'd like to see them. ACCOMPLISHMENTS PLEASE. List them if you can. No double talk, no "vision for the future". What the he!! has he DONE???
Surely you know from your Army background that one is promoted on performance and potential. Obama may well have potential, but where is the performance?

You are so right. Alabama made a major error including someone who can give youngsters in the 6th grade someone to emulate. Someone with a teenage mother who went to Columbia and Harvard Law school where he served as President of the Harvard law review. He is now the candidate for the highest office in the USA.
Rather, they should include pictures of Run DMC, 2 Pac, LL Cool J, and Snoop Dog. They are rap artists who have achieved success with Gold records, Platinum albums, big Mercedes, and big gold chains.
According to the 2006 Smart School rankings, Alabama is 45 followed by Alaska at 46 and Arizona dead last at 50. Your may not like Obama's politics and I accept that. But to suggest that being a candidate for President does not entitle one to be included in a 6th grade book is pathetic. Wouldn't it be nice if his story, win or lose, gave some kids the feeling that they too could someday achieve success in life other than becoming a rap singer, athlete, or drug dealer???????

A war hero with real congressional experience that is also a candidate for POTUS. But nooooo that might not be politically correct to put him in a school book. I'm so sick of this it makes me want to puke. Go ahead and elect Big O ( The Messiah) and let him screw it all up and maybe we won't be too far gone this time to right the ship before it sinks in 4 years.

You totally changed the subject didn't address the issue. When you have no legitimate response you just start talking about something else....first it was rap stars....now Bush. Pretty weak.
And oh, by the way, in case you forgot the issue is which current POTUS candidate is more deserving on being in a 6th grade textbook - one who served his country, spent time in a POW camp, then went on to serve many years in the Senate....OR....one who spent no time in the military and a grand total of 143 days in the senate. No contest.

since it was effectively rebutted weeks ago by none other than the guy who was "quoted" in the email.
However I'm sure we'll be told that the doesn't know what he's talking about when he claims he didn't say what he was accused of saying, or how he really was at a gathering that he claims he did not attend. After all, who would know better: him, or someone on this board?

Next week they will be discussing the "IN GOD WE TRUST" on our coins and dollar bills. It mentions that legislature and Congress are the ones that have the right to change this as they did when they added it in 1864. They will be learning about why the Declaration of Independence is important to our country. This is where parenting comes in. It is my job as a parent to sit down with my child and share with her the history of her family line. This is why it is important to her. Starting with one of her great grandfathers signed it and why it was important to him!
As far as your answer about Obama in the text book. He has not done ANYTHING that would make him so important that he should jump in font of many deserving people to be placed in the history book of Alabama. What has he done for Alabama and what as he done for this country.? It was printed by TIME MAGAZINE for the book. IT was about his "wonderful speech he gave at the democratic convention. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! A HIstory book??

I don't know the context under which his picture appears, but it would seem to me that having an African American run for President within 50 years of the landmark Civil Rights Act amendment to the Constitution would be noteworthy. What if it was a picture of Condi Rice (and I hope there is) -- she is from Alabama? Or Colin Powell -- wasn't he the first African American Secretary of State and the first African American Chairman of the Joint Chiefs?
No matter what your politics, I would think that we would all be in awe of the changes that have taken place in most of our lifetimes. And so many of the changes came out of Alabama. I think that is something for Alabama children to know about and feel proud of.

You can bet your pension that they aren't in those books becuase they are republicans. And I might point out that at the time that book was written, edited and sent to print that NOBODY knew the chosen one was even going to run, much less steal the nomination.
Refuting your arguments is just as easy as it is to refute your ignorant husband. This is fun. Are you going to stick around this time?
