Texas is having a real problem with the cold weather as they did not take steps to winterize their powergrid. Their wind turbines would work in the winter if they had a deicer.

 As  an example in Iowa...."We add optional cold weather packages to every single turbine in our fleet. These system upgrades help keep our turbines spinning in temperatures as low as -22 degrees Fahrenheit. Some of our turbines performed in even colder temperatures during February 2021’s polar vortex!"

Texas has a problem because they stupidly built a bunch of unreliable sources of energy while sitting on trillions of cubic feet of cheap, clean natural gas.  As for the deicers, given they have weather like this once every several years I think it's no surprise they didn't winterize like they do in Iowa.  Same reason in the south we don't have snow plows and huge stockpiles of salt and sand......think Goofy.....just think for once and use common sense.  Oh, and also, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I was merely showing that the turbines can be cranking in the winter with the use of the deicer. I lived in Atlanta for 16 years and well know the problems we had when it snowed. My car had a racing engine and was so powerful I just parked it when it snowed.

It was new from the factory with the same engine they raced in NASCAR. Inorder to qualify the engine for use in a race car, they had to sell 500 to the public. Used to drive it to the Varsity(drive in)  in Atlanta. I would park it and go inside. When I came out the hood was usually open to check out the engine. Hoods has no  lock back then. The engine, if you understand, had solid lifters, no power steering, and no air. It could get hot in the summer in Atlanta but it was fun to drive. 2 4 barrels and around 8 miles to the gallon. But premium was around $.34/gallon. which was around $.08/mile. Today, at $3.50 gallon, you need to get 43 miles per gallon to equal my cost of 8 cents per mile.

No, you specifically referred to Texas to throw some shade at the state for not deicing their wind turbines.  My response was the logical reason they don't spend that extra capital in TX just like we don't have snow plows in GA. 

Besides, if globaloney were true we won't need any of that in 10 years, right?  And it's always 10 years before it's too late.....10 years before Miami is underwater.....10 years before the polar ice cap melts and polar bears drown.....sort of like the bar with the sign that says free beer tomorrow......the end is near, we have to act now, you must suffer now.......and 10 years later they are saying the exact same thing.  No wonder only those that view climate change as their new religion actually care about globaloney and the rest of us are worried about extraneous stuff like inflation, high energy prices, the invasion at the border, out of control crime, the looming recession, high interest rates, supply chain issues and so on....globaloney isn't in my top 50 issues.

What make and model was it and how many horsepower?  I did not know that they had to sell to the public in order to be able to use it in NASCAR.  Am not a NASCAR fan as I prefer Indy and Grand Prix.

So like Texas you chose NOT to purchase a 4X4 or better suited vehicle for the handfull of days each year something could be a problem?!?!?!?  you chose the powerful racing engine that caused "climate change" instead.....  to put the power to the ground did you have a locked diff as well?  with that much power and lack of traction for snow/ice - you probably also had issues when it rained, putting people at risk all around you.

So you were did not plan for any future events or care about the planet while putting people in harms way!!!

Global warming is a long-term trend, but that does not mean that every year will be warmer than the previous one. Day to day and year to year changes in weather patterns will continue to produce some unusually cold days and nights, and winters and summers, even as the climate warms.

Antarctica is losing ice mass (melting) at an average rate of about 150 billion tons per year, and Greenland is losing about 280 billion tons per year, adding to sea level rise.

Totally agree it is a long-term trend and the global climates have been warming since the end of the Little Ice Age.  The real question is whether it is being caused by man-made CO2 emissions and if yes, to what extent.  On that note, while we have emitted record tons of CO2 over the last 8 to 9 years there has been no warming.  And much longer with a slight period of warming in between.  See the graph below.
