Now I know that it is better to take the fifth than to die of suicide with three bullets to the back of the head, but doesn't the IT guys pleading the fifth imply that they have something to hide?   At least one had immunity with FBI and subphoena ordered he bring that agreement with him.  Can the committee require anything of anybody?  I know that with transparency this would not be necessary but that is not where we are.  Is there a way to know the truth?  Is anyone Responsible and Accountable?

Pleading the fifth absolutely implies they have some reason to NOT incriminate themselves.  Otherwise they would answer openly.

We need just one of them to not fear 3 bullet suicide and rat out the rest of them.  Surely, there is some way to pry this open.  Perhaps it is "contempt" to not oblige the supoena.  Interesting to know the truth.

Ever since Ollie North lied to Congress, it is now acceptable not to tell the truth.  Even those crazy people that crashed the WH party that time, took the 5th when called before Congress.

It seems to me that once you have been given immunity you either testify or sit in jail till you decide too.

You know, I am really big on telling the truth.  I have worked on a number of testimony to Congress for senior officials, and spent hours trying to get the wording just right (yes, all the testimony is prescripted and provided to Congress ahead of time) so as not to admit to a problem.  And 9 times out of 10, it just gets more and more complicated, the more one tries to evade the truth.  Clearly the IT people are trying to avoid something - and perhaps they fear the wrath of HRC more than they fear the wrath of Congress.  Clearly they did something that they knew was wrong, but did it anyway.  So now they will hide behind the 5th so as not to ruin HRC's chances of becoming the President.  I think this is just further evidence of the ethical decay that is Washington these days. They may end up finding out that S**t rolls downhill when the truth comes out, as Ollie North found out.

I keep thinking that people are just not taught ethics anymore.  People used to put a lot of stock in the turth, but now?  It seems like lying has been validated as an acceptable response. There used to be personal integrity that people prided in themselves. I know it is politics and there is always a certain amount of fabrication and fictionization of the truth in election cycles, but it's like that show that used to be on COPS:  "ain't my drugs, I was just holding them for my friend.  What is your friend's name?  Well, I don't know his name or where he lives."
