is refusing to release his delegates.  Think he is indulging in some magical thinking that he still might be the nominee.  Read an insightful article the other day written by one of his debate partners in college.  He said that Ted's style was so out of character for the atmosphere of the debates - that he was desperate to win every one.  He said that the one place that his style really did work was arguing cases before the Supreme Court was he was the atty general in Texas.  He said the rules of the court kept Ted Cruz from his worst style excesses; and that the campaign trail did not.

I was surprised, too.  Maybe he is just being vindictive and wants to deny Trump a first ballot nomination.. maybe making a small bet that the ensuing floor fight will embitter & frustrate Trump.    It certainly could open up the possiblity of a REAL floor fight among Trump supporters who have been primed to expect they could be cheated out of his win.   Any hint that Trump might not get the coronation could be met with riots as predicted by Trump himself.     To the extent that Trump's leadership can be shown to be devisive & damaging to the GOP brand... Cruz stands to benefit from any wounds Trump can be provoked into inflicting on the party.   

 It doesn't cost Cruz anything to do this, and he might just endear himself both to his evangelical supporters and to the Moderate Republican establishment....both are horrified by Trump.     Or maybe he is just a political animal who won't give up on his hopes of greatness.

I always wonder what makes someone like him tick.  I suspect he can't accept that he has been rejected. 

I hear that you are abandoning the pleasures of our nation's Capitol for the subtle pleasures of the lake in the not too distant future.  It would be criminal to miss an entire season on the lake.  But you'll have to readjust.
