So "I'm coming to tow you" over the phone is not a verbal contract in NC?

Read about this yesterday, and it left me wondering:

Given NC and Mississippi's new laws regarding bathroom use, will we have to start carrying copies of our birth certificate and pictures of our private parts for the bathroom police?

And will we have to start carrying official proof of our political affliation? Will businesses have to specify in their ads just who they will accept as customers, or perhaps ad, specifically stating who they will not serve?

Will we have to carry proof of our religious affiliations, a copy of our DNA, so we can prove we are from whatever cultural background we claim?

Where does it end?

On my way moving down here, I was driving a very packed rented van and got a flat tire out on the back roads.  It was a hot, humid day, I was frazzled, my cell phone would only work in one spot and I really didn't have anyone to call, except 911, who dispatched a professional to help me.  He was really a guy that helped broken down tractor trailers.   He didn't inquire about any of the above, but spent time laying in weeds getting my tire off (but first we had to upack half the van to get to the spare tire).  At the end he gave me a very reasonable bill and I was moved to give him a very generous tip (for helping me that day, I would have given him everything in my wallert), and he thanked me profusely.  And I told him I would remember him in my prayers as he was my angel that day.  And that seemed to please him more than any money I had given him.  I like to think that he saw a frazzled human being in distress, and he was a human being that knew how to help me.  We never exchanged political views, he didn't ask me about my sexual orientation, my religion or anything of that nature.

So why has that now changed?

Chances are very good that the same thing happened to somebody else today.  Especially if they broke down near where I grew up.

We always helped each other.  Do I think that is Ok?  If that is the question, yes.   Many folks on road here will stop to see if motorist is ok.  Usually they have just pulled over in a good cell area.

No, that wasn't my question or maybe I misunderstood your comment.  I thought you were saying that a lot of people where you were from would leave someone stranded if they had the wrong bumper sticker on their card.   So I asked you if you thought that was okay.

But, I know here around the lake  and in Alex City and probably all over Alabama,  people look out for other people and will always lend a hand if they can and I think that is wonderful.  In fact, one of the things that has impressed me since moving here, how people will always step up to help someone if they can and will work tirelessly in the case of an emergency (like the big tornado).  I saw people in Walmart buying tons of kids clothes so they could donate to those in need.  I have never lived in a place like that, until now.  In fact, a friend of mine from NJ, told me some people from Alabama came up there after Hurricane Sandy, wanting to help out and cook for whomever needed help.  Unfortunately, there was no one for local action for them to join and they left.  She had never seen anything like that, and I was pleased to be able to tell her that it was common reaction here in Alabama.

Roy Moore is the white conservative version of Al Sharpton.

Right on, bruh.

France fell apart because it came down to this group vs. that group.

Naturally the larger group has the influence.  (Two wolves and a sheep decide what is for dinner.)

It's simple ya'll............freedom for the individual - not the group - made America.

"It's simple ya'll............freedom for the individual - not the group - made America."   As long as you and you conspiracy thinking right wing nuts agree with the individuals. You and yours denied LGBT their rights so they "formed" a group. Kinda like the NRA.

And that would be real nice of her and I'd give her a big hug.  I find people's willingness to help, their willingness to chat and the hospitality way one of the best things about living here.

The first time that I came to Alabama (Dothan), 38 years ago, I remember going into the grocery store with my soon to be MIL.  We were making a fruit salad and she asked the clerk if they had any fresher stuff than what was out.  He actually said, yes m'am and went into the back and found her some.  Then when we got to the register, the cashier was chatting up the people and actually removed her hands from the keys (before scanners) and gestured.  And no one yelled at her, no one rioted.  I was amazed having had a grocery store cashiers job while I was in HS, and if I had ever stopped moving my fingers over the keys,  someone would have said something (not nice) and if the tape ran out between orders, people would be rolling their eyes and muttering about murder and someone would have said something ugly.  Not to say there weren't nice people in NJ, but they are a very impatient lot and can be very vocal about their displeasure.  When I go back there or to Northern VA, I am always struck by the difference and how used to every one taking their time and being nice I have become.

@ Goofy

I will no longer attempt to discuss anything with a liberal.

You do not exist to reason, you exist only to consume and destroy what God and good men have labored for.

Ticks and locusts come to mind.

Goodbye.

I never realized you are so sensitive. I will show you more empathy and  kindness in my future responses so you feel better about yourself. I will no longer disagree with you, rather, I will only respond if I agree with the day's  conspiracy theory. I truly apologize for hurting you feelings.

Psychiatrist: Leftists are mentally ill
- $4.95 today only!
'Strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions' cited by clinical psychotherapist

With Barack Obama regarded by many as dangerously narcissistic, here comes a veteran psychiatrist making the case that the mental-emotional world of leftists is actually tantamount to a mental disorder.

And today only, WND readers can get a copy of Lyle Rossiter's brilliant book, "The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness," for only $4.95 - a $15 discount off the regular price!

For more than 40 years, Rossiter has diagnosed and treated over 1,500 patients as a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases, both state and federal, as a forensic psychiatrist retained by numerous public offices, courts and private attorneys. He received his medical and psychiatric training at the University of Chicago.

Rossiter explains with great clarity why the kind of liberalism displayed by Barack Obama during his presidency can only be understood as a psychological disorder.

"Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," says Rossiter. "Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave."

"A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity - as liberals do," he says. "A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population - as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and overtaxes the nation's citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state - as liberals do."

Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

  • creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
  • satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
  • augmenting primitive feelings of envy;
  • rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

"The roots of liberalism - and its associated madness - can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind," he says. "When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious."
