I saw some of your posts regarding this unit and wanted your input on it and if you have been satisfied with the performance. I was looking to get the 28C model but missed it on ebay so now I think I am going to get the 27C depending on your review. I am not really even sure of the difference in the two models myself. I just want to be able to mark stripe and see the contour of the lake. I emailed Wes Wood regarding the Lowrance in general and he had very good things to say about it. Look forward to hearing back from you or anyone else on this subject.

As far as marking, they are the same. The difference is the 28c has a 30GB hard drive and more built in maps. You can't go wrong with either just watch the price since they are both are discontinued models and have been replaced by the HDS7. Good luck. Sure fun spending money on toys!!!!!!!! I am in the process of outfitting a 24 ft center console.

27C Delivers a brilliant 7” diag. TFT color display, and sonar/GPS chartplotter performance. Features expanded built-in background map of the continental U.S. and Hawaii with over 3,000 lakes with depth contours. Waterproof memory card slots are compatible with a superb variety of high-detail, plug-&-play electronic chart options loaded on MMC/SD cards.

28C The newly enhanced edition in the highly popular 7” screen size with all the champion-grade sonar/chartplotter features that has made the LCX series the choice of serious pros. Featuring larger 30GB internal hard drive preloaded with high-detail mapping/charts for coastal and inland navigation in and around the U.S. and Hawaii. It includes a 30GB hard drive preloaded with tons of electronic charts and maps

I would make sure you get a unit with the side-viewing sonar. They cost more but are well worth it. We mark more fish and bait with the side sonar than with the reqular 2-D units. Lowrance calls it Structure Scan and Humminbird calls it Side Imaging. It is awesome technology that really helps finding fish and structure.
