Legion Field, November 1967...I had never seen this much rain prior to and during a football game. The stadium steps had been turned into concrete river basins. The players were simply blurs in the distance. Auburn's defense had dominated the entire game...our 3 point lead had Auburn people feeling really good about how this thing would end. Late in the game, the Alabama quarterback took the snap and sloshed to the right. An Auburn defender was set to tackle him but slipped down in the mud. Kenny Stabler splashed his way to the end zone crushing the spirit of all Auburn fans. There was something about Stabler that words could not describe. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace.

Good words, BigFoot. A colorful guy, no doubt. He was a good color analyst for the Tide.
