Every Year this seems to be a forum topic. Sorry to beat a dead horse BUT. Why don't most people get this? Had an incident last night. Family taking a night ride and here comes a fishing boat with those spot lights mounted all across the front of the boat. Had to be 9 BRIGHT lights. I had to completely stop because I was blinded. When the boat idled by I politely in my loud voice told them to cut their docking lights off. Yep I received the one finger salute. Get educated on boating rules or get off the lake!

We see pontoon boats at night with their docking lights on.  Looks like a car coming at you.  My guess is they don't even know they are on.

Keep one of those seven quadrillion candlepower spotlights close by and paint their boat with it.  Maybe then they will "see the light".

Good idea. It's seriously one of the dumbest and most irritating things on the lake.

what l dont understand is why is the marine police not on the water at night? they get paid by our tax dollars  and boating registrations. the money made in one month would pay for the year from all the idiots in sandy creek alone. we counted over a dozen jet skis running through the islands last week end after 8 pm, no lights. as mentioned numerous boats with docking lights on or no lights! if you check the stats on accidents on this lake you will notice they occur mostly at dusk or night. the marine police know this but seem like they dont care. l have inquired about this at state troopers office and was told budget limitations....not enough officers.  complete BS. THEY KNOW WHATS GOING ON. THEY READ THIS FORUM ALSO. they would rather hassel a family about life jackets or hang out at the rock to watch hot chicks in bikinis shaking their butts rather than dealing with the deadly idiots on the water at night. WAKE UP MARINE POLICE AND DO YOUR JOBS!!!!!! l have been on this lake over 30 years and its always been like this. DONT EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THEY DO NOT KNOW WHATS GOING ON!

According to The Outlook, you are an idiot and don't know what you're talking about. In this list I see 4 tickets written for "Improper Navigation Lights".  I guess they must work at night.  http://www.alexcityoutlook.com/2017/05/31/marine-patrol-issues-30-citations-over-holiday-period/

glad you like to call people names. shows your intelligence. light can be checked during the day as well as kill switches , life jackets, boating registrations ect. do not read something into an article, read what it says.

Lights can be checked during the day?  How exactly would that happen since you're not required to have navigation lights during the day. If you think these people were written tickets for improper navigation lights during the day, then that explains everything. You come on here making baseless accusations.  When those accusations are easily debunked, you accuse me of misreading the article? That's rich.

Just admit you're wrong.  That obviously the Marine Police DO work at night, in contrast to your baseless accusation.

In his world they should write ti kits for potential future violations. Great revenue generated. Write every PWC a ticket because they don't have lights.. I had several boats in my youth that had no lights, glad I didn't get caught...lol.
