Interesting article and if true it is disturbing on so many fronts.  First, it is astounding to me that the WaPo may have found the leaker before the FBI.  Apparently they are too busy inciting riots and infiltrating Latin masses in the Catholic Church to detect and investigate national security leaks.  Just one more in a long list of reasons the FBI needs to be overhauled from top to bottom.  Two, this information has apparently been in the ether for a long, long time and we are only hearing about it now?!?!?  Either it is yet another example of incompetence on the part of our intelligence and investigatory agencies or the administration has been hiding this from the American people.  Third and probably most importantly, the Brandon administration has been lying through their teeth to us about the prospects in Ukraine and it looks more and more likely that the billions we sent will be for nothing.  Of course this assumes that our intelligent estimates are accurate which is a big leap in faith at odds with all evidence to the contrary.

I read it and also found it interesting and fascinating.  Interesting because it was and facinated that I actually agree with GF.  That is scary in itself to me.

If it is true, it is a sad commentary on what this country has become.  If it had been a group berating tranny's then everyone in that group would have been swatted and taken in and held as material witnesses, not allowed to do interviews with national media.  But it was only millitary and State secrets, no big deal.

Just read an interesting opinion piece about contractors working in a classified enviroment having access to sensitive, classified material.  Its true. The war on terror drastically increased the number of people they needed to work on militarty intelligence, so they hired contractors to do the work that there wasn't enough govt people to do.  Since getting a TS takes so long (can take up to a year for them to run down all your contacts, neighbors, associates, family, friends), they were granting "interim TS" to contractors.  

The thing about acess to any classified material is to not only hold the clearance, but also a "need to know".  from what I am reading, the information compromised appears to be lifted from the daily briefing given to senior military leaders.  

I'm not saying that the leaker is contractor - he could almost anyone.  It seems like he fite the description like so many others - male, in his 20s, wanting to feel important, and in this case, feel important to a group of young gamers.  They said he went so far as to decipher the terminology used in the reporting for them to understand.  

In my opinion, they need to crack down on who is getting these high level clearnaces and stop granting interim TS.  It seems as though the whole classification and clearance system has gotten very loose, and too easily compromised.  I imagine when they find this guy they will prosecute him, although if he turns out to be a minority or trans, he'll probably have an excuse. 

The fact that he bragged about working in a secure environment, where they didn't allow phones or cameras just says that he worked in a SCIF where TS documents can be accessed and read.  it woud be fairly easy to take the documents home - because to my knowledge, most places do not inspect anyone that works there leavng the area.

I used the word alleged for two reasons.  One, the WaPo may have gotten it wrong.  Two, this guy may have posted the info but he may not be the actual leaker.  It seems to me entirely possible he got it from someone else and was just the conduit.

Need to know - apparently some guy in the national guard may be the alleged leaker - even with clearances, how the hell does this guy have "need to know" about what is going on in Ukraine, China ....

Given his age, I suspect he was a clerk who handled incoming mail.  Given his age, it doesn't seem like he would be an intel analyst, or researcher.   when I was still working we had Airman that worked in the administtrative field.  Of course, the AF puts a lot of effort into training their admin and most of them were good with computers.
