serious subject Lakeman talked about earlier on the forum, which is a concern to us with a home on Centerport Road. There are 4 dogs that run this road on a daily basis. They are: 2 black dogs( one which wears a red color), a red dog and a brown and white spotted dog. The brown and white spotted dog is the problem. He attacked our black lab in our drive way. Our dog stood his ground. He also mauled a poodle around the corner from us a few months ago. I am not sure if the poodle made it or not. If you know where this brown and white dog hangs out for food, please talk to the ones that are feeding him/her. This dog has got to go but we can't do it unless he/she attacks(or comes close to attacking our poodle). We will pull out the gun then and shot. BTW, midsst would you please e-mail me and let me know which house you were talking about in your post earlier. Thanks, Rhonda

a mean dead dog or a dead child. Can you afford to wait for someone to be attacked.

That's not a very nice attitude. Everyone's opinion should matter. It was attitudes like yours that divided people on this lake when the Big Boat issue first came up, and now look where we are.

I think you should apologize. Then I think you should go to time out while the rest of us decide whether or not *you* matter.

Babygirl the poodle made it (mine) but the chihuahua didn't. The white dog with brown spots and the red shaggy one ran into my yard and attacked my poodle. We need to do something about these dogs.

The Trussells that have a place at the end of my road feed these dogs almost daily. They hang out the house just past the fenced in trailer park where one of the black dogs stay. They also wait for the couple at heads place.

To have to wait for someone to be bitten or killed is a bad way to handle this situation.

I am a animal lover myself.....but reading the posts and the incidents that have occurred....it doesn't really seem to be a difficult decision to make. If they don't have a collar and they come onto your property....shoot them and all the worries of a child being bitten or a poodle getting mauled or you getting bitten are over with. I am trying to figure why this is such a hard decision?

I have just crawled out of time out and ALCSN you are absolutely correct. Everyone's opinion should matter. With that said, OSMS I apologize for my post last night. Rhonda

Babygirl, hope you realized this is an imposter... you know me.

As for the imposter, I really do not appreciate you using a name to resemble mine to state an opinion.

I thought that the comment " while the rest of us decide whether or not *you* matter " didn't sound like something you would say to me. Thanks for pointing out the imposter for me. My alias has been stolen in the past so I know how you feel. Tell PP and the kids I said "Hello". Rhonda

Here is the way you can tell my alias. You already know what it stands for and it is in order from oldest to youngest :0)

Tallapoosa County desparately needs a leash law. It's just a matter of time before this story is told about some child getting hurt or killed. Why can't an ordinance be passed? Our police have been told we can't afford an animal control operation.

That's just baloney. At a minimum you could fine people for letting their dogs run loose like that. Those of you that can vote should be talking to your county commissioner. Especially around election time.

are you guys talking about? I am on Harrison, just off Centerport past the "S" curve. When I'm at the lake, I usually walk from my house, down Centerport and to the end of Company Road. If I'm feeling particularly energetic and 20 years younger, I will walk the other direction around by Crowne Point or up the bigger hill to Curry (?) Point. I don't remember any trailer park anywhere. There are a couple of big dogs - one looks like a Rottweiler mix - that come out along Centerport. A lot of folks along my slough have dogs, but they don't seem to be vicious. Just loud sometimes, and curious who's around.
