Our President is going to make about a half dozen trips to Walter Reed like he did to New Orleans after Katrina.

I understand they will have to build a new runway so AF1 can land there.

Just watch the news and see if it does not happen, He might even have his sleeves rolled up.

What a crying shame as to how we treat our brave. ruined and discarded soldiers.

This is the truth. I do have a tears in my eyes.

these soldiers slept in mud holes in Iraq, they know how to survive. I agree it's a shame that they must suffer while the welfare addicts in New Orleans have to suffer through living in the Ritz-Carlton for a year or two.

You've been watching too much CNN, ABC, NBC, and Katie News. Will the crisis be Billery, Obama Rama, Anna Nicole, or Brittney tonight??

It's time for you to get hooked on American Idol again, where you can vote as many times as you like and make them all count.

If you watch to much news, it will drive you to drunkin'.....and that might cause you to accidentally look over someones elses d*ck (not a pretty picture)!

Has jumped on the Anna band wagon. That BS makes me so sick. I'll agree with OSMS.. I've turned the news off for now.

and I am wrong. Lets go bury our heads in the sand.

Don't watch the news or read the paper.

Sorry about the double clicks.

Little different than discussing Insurance.

Feb, what would you like to see President Bush do?

If you want to really get upset with the Government go to your average VA Hospital. I'm not talking about your show place in Washington and Virginia--go to your average VA. You would be appalled at the terrible condition of the facilities and it didn't happen in the past 6 years either; it's been going downhill for decades. Medicaid patients get twice the care that a VA offers.

I'm just worried about you buddy.....see, it's makin' ya st..st..st...studder too. If it makes you feel better, I agree there are some major problems in Washington.

Hi au67. I do appologize for kind of blowing you off with you question to me. It was not right of me. It just seemed to be the canned question that comes out of every backbone Southern Churchs. I hope I am wrong there since there is supposed to be a separation of Church and State.

I should not judge, and I should of given you the reasonable doubt for asking a legitimate question.

I am not a person of importance. I did develop a few managment skills along the way. First you take care of your people. I did lead in combat. They are always your people and you are their leader as long as you are fighting the battle. I have soldier's names on the "Wall" that served in my platoon and my Comapny. You do not discard the wounded, maimed and unfit to continue the battle just because they can not continue your cause. You have to continue to take care of them just as they gave their all for our Country. Our Country is not taking care of our own, and it is sick. We mouth the words of how important our troops are and do nothing about it. They are not getting the care they deserve and have earned. The Veterans Administration is broken, and we know it. We just choose to mouth the words and are doing nothing about it. I beg of you to Please Please Please tell me I am wrong. I need to hear I am wrong.

If I were President tomorrow , what would I do. You ask? I would announce the national debt (Not the deficit). I would identify who holds the loans of the National Debt. I would start an aggressive effort to collect and pay it off so ourI country could be free again. We are attempting to set other's free and and removing our own freedoms.

I was 100 percent behind our President when he said we will go anywhere and do anything to take down those that attacked us . Let me ask you - Has he done so? We have the capability to seal the borders betwwen Iran and Iraq and and between Pakastan and Afghaninstan, and then .even seal the borders between the USA and South America.

I worked for the Department of Defense for all my working life, and I know our capability. We are not even scratching the surface. It is just a war of politics.

Once again to attempt to answer your quesition since I know you want an answer; We need someone with a ten simple point plan to cover the points I just addressed.

You have willingly given me my opportunity on the soap box. I hope I have addrssed you question.

Plaease come back and tell me where I am wrong and what we can do better. It will not be a loosing propositing since things can'[ get much worse.

I would like for you to tell us what President Busk is doing right. How is he going to make us a greater Nations? I will read every work you choose to post. You owe it back to me in return. Make it your own thoughs and not propaganda you have heard.

Hi Feb,

I think you are right. "Our guys" have blown the opportunity to fix a lot of things in the last 5-6 years. Poor treatment of our vets is inexcuseable. We can afford it too. I'm reading a book now called Modern Times by Paul Johnson. It's a history of the 20th century and addresses how all these wars happen. I'll bet you would like it.

Peace,
RR

Subject:   VA may be outdated...

Here's a thought. The VA was formed as a Gov bureaucracy many years ago to take care of WWI, then WWII soldiers' needs. Millions of these soldiers had nowhere else to turn for medical treatment and nursing home care. This was all before Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Now the WWII soldiers will be mostly gone in the next 10 years, and the Vietnam, Iraq, etc. veterans are much fewer in number and can be better treated by private facilities--paid for by an appreciative Government. The VA is a dinosaur, rotting, and cannot be fixed--let's stop throwing money at it and come up with a better alternative.

I'm a veteran; also an American. I also respect our commander in chief. He has made some mistakes but not near as many as our news reports say he has. Sometimes I shudder when I here of some "protestor" knocking our way of life and military and taking stabs at our president. I was taught that I have more rights than any other citizen on the face of the earth, yet with those rights comes an obligation - being thankful for and helping those young military people who are on guard now as I was so many years ago. To all of you - when you see a young person in uniform, why not shake his or her hand and say thank you. Thanks for President Bush, I cannot even begin to think how our last president would have handled all of this mess. President Bush was elected and I will stand by him until he leaves office, that is just the way I was taught, respect those who lead. Cobra

If our forefathers had had such blind allegiance to leaders, we would not be the United States of America. We would still be under British rule.

Amen COBRA. It's not blind allegiance. Soon you will get another taste of stupid ignorance. The dems " better RED than dead " style of rule will be the death of the United States and Democracy. Veterans who have served their country should never have to want for a thing.

I know that this is true because I saw it a decade ago on an NBC news show. They were giving their "Fleecing of America" award to the VA.

NBC insisted on airing a NON-STORY on cop-killer bullets in 1981. Police begged them to not air the story as most criminals did not know police wore Kevlar vests yet.

I have tried to avoid NBC as often as possible ever since.
